Just when you think that the national Democratic Party can sink no lower, they come up with a new and slimier example of utter shamelessness.

Not content with merely undermining the valiant efforts of our servicemen and women risking and sometimes losing their lives fighting international terrorism around the world, the Democrats have now produced a video commercial exploiting the deaths of American soldiers and Marines in order to raise money and win votes.

Their new fundraising video shows some 12 flag-draped coffins of dead American servicemen inside a cargo plane. This shocking scene is followed by an image of a soldier staring at a helmet propped up by a machine gun that is stuck in the ground, obviously marking the spot where an American died defending his country against a vicious enemy.

Doesn't it just make you proud to be a Democrat?

how did this exploit the dead soldiers?

I guess I need to see the ad or something, but to me it just sounds like they are hitting on issues that are at the forfront of our current political awareness in this country....

Absolutely! I am proud of the democrats for doing this. We're in a war, right? People have died, right? Why shouldn't we acknowledge that our soldiers are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan? If this is such a nobel war, why should their deaths be hidden?

I would like to point out that George Bush claimed he would not exploit September 11th. Yet when he ran in 2004, he showed images from September 11th, including a coffin with a flag over it, which was the funeral of a fire fighter. Tell me what the difference is between that and what the democrats did?

Democratic Ad Exploits the Dead

The Dems are merely saying "thanks" to their most consistent voting bloc. Or had you forgotten who put Kennedy into office over Nixon in 1960 in the Chicago voting districts?

:D

The proper way to honor the dead is to ignore their deaths!
Ah, and to pretend they never existed and that no one is upset about their deaths!

I am reminded how many times the right (read; GOP) have exploited the dead of 9/11. In election years as well as to promote many of their agendas.

Pointing out a democrat that did it pales in comparison to their many infractions.

But I agree that it's a bad thing no matter who does it but who can deny the GOP'ers have seemed to be making their carreers off of it?

Are you all talking about this commercial

http://www.mydd.com/story/2006/7/14/104811/359 ?

I didn't have a problem with the coffins so much as I had a problem with this idea that Republicans have made the world a "horror" but the dems have all the answers to make it great.....though no answers are actually provided in the commercial. I think the commercial is a real turn off though and oversimpifies with this idea that the dems are happy positive people that will fix everything while the republicans are monsters who sold out the country. Most people aren't that stupid so basically I think most will watch the commercial, be reminided of all the things going wrong, and realize the dems provided not one solution or answer in their long negative add. :rofl Unless of course I'm to believe that just smiling will make the world a better place. Or perhaps blowjobs? Which sorry but I always think of blowjobs when I think of Clinton.

My kingdom for a blowjob baby!

Better images of that then seeing our brave troops coming home in bodybags and coffins courtesy of President George W. Bush.

We love you Bill Clinton...

PRESIDENT CLINTON: 8 YEARS OF PEACE, PROGRESS, AND PROSPERITY!

Actually my biggest problem with the ad (As a democrat) isn't the coffins, but the fact the ad tries to continue the line that Republicans are crooks and Democrats are not.

Sorry, but IMO, the corruption is DEEP on both sides and neither side can claim to be the "clean" party.

I do have a problem with the coffins as I do not think the dead should be used as political statements. I was also upset when the Republicans did the same thing with 9/11 during the 2004 campaign.

To be honest, the party that will get my vote will be the party that is willing to actually make a change and with a solid plan in doing it. The whole "Stay the Course" S.h*t from the Republicans and the "We'll do it better" from the dems, and the "We are better than both parties" load of crap with the Libertarians is not going to win me over.

Bring the plan and actually show you're willing to stick to it and not just use it as a carrot for voters.

You're proud that the Democrats exploited dead soldiers in a fundraising add? Wow.

I am glad that someone in the democratic party figured out that this ad was very offensive and a insult to every man who has paid the ultimate sacrafice in Iraq........

I do not believe they exploited their deaths.

Why do you think the dems pulled the ad then aps?

Because they're wimps. They really are. This is why people see them as weak.

Trajan, I call it showing the facts. We are in a war and our soldiers are dying.

Ya and you think it's right to exploit that for financial benefit?

I think it's a good reminder to people that Republicans want to keep our soliders in Iraq forever.

Do you have a problem with the ads George Bush used in his 2004 campaign showing the coffins of firefighters that were killed on September 11th? Because if you do not, then you have zero credibility on this issue.

Not because the ad was in very bad taste and exploited our dead soldiers even a little bit aps?

I can tell you I am not a Republican but that is not my wish...I want our troops out of Iraq the day that the Iaqi military and police can handle the secueity there...............

Do you remember President Bush standing on the mains of the WTC on 9/14/01..........The WTC happened on his watch......Huge difference aps.....

I can see how it would upset some people, but when I saw the ad, I did not think it was in poor taste on that part. The part I found in poor taste was showing Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as being democrats we should be proud of. ;) Not.

A) They were in poor taste.

B) A bit different they weren't fundraising adds.

Well we agree on that but as long as the democratic party base is controlled by the far left that is the type of leaders you have to live with if your a democrat........
