Dem Leadership needs to be replaced: Yes or No. They're fully controlled by the whims of donors. Thus, the ideology of the donors is the ideology of the leadership. In this state the Dems are barely a political party. Certainly not a resistance party.

It's not just generational. Hakeem Jeffries is not better than Pelosi, and may actually be much worse.

It happened. There are a few on here who would do the same given their druthers. It's just as much because of them than because of the tactics of the Right that the Dems are screwed.

As a Conservative, I don’t give a **** what Democrats do, but on a personal level, I have far more respect for Populist Progressive Democrats like AOC, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren than I do for the milquetoast Establishment Corporate Democrats like Jeffries, Schumer, Pelosi, and Harris who are bought and paid for by their donors and tools for foreign governments (especially Israel).

What democrats need to do is get better at explaining what we really want to do, and why it would be a good idea to do it. We got so fixated on explaining why Trump was a terrible person that we failed to explain why Harris would be a good president. I think that is the heart of why we lost in 2024. We do not need to change the party to appease some fringe group, as that will not row the party. We need to explain why are policy plans are good plans. If we can explain properly why the issues people care about will be better handled by the democratic candidate than the republican one, then we have a chance to win elections again.

I certainly agree with you that Jeffries isn’t Pelosi. When Trump won in 2016 Pelosi took the reins of leadership in opposition to Trump which eventually lead to a 42-seat gain in the house, the democrats regaining control in 2018. I classify the democratic party as being both leaderless and rudderless this time around.

Pelosi had a lot less to work with than Jeffries, 194 democratic seats vs. Jeffries 215. Yet, Pelosi ran an effective opposition and got the democratic message out to the public. Jeffries and Schumer has done none of that. Neither Jeffries or Schumer have been able to unify the democratic party in opposition as different factions within the democratic party continue to fight for control.

Both major parties are controlled by their donors, that’s not new. But perhaps in the age of social media having mega donors’ money isn’t as important as it was in the past. Remember, Trump won twice while receiving and spending much less money. In 2016 Clinton raised and spent 1.191 billion to Trump’s 636.8 million and Clinton lost. In 2024 Harris raised and spent 1.994 billion to Trump’s 1.453 billion, Harris lost.

You're not wrong but part of the issue - or maybe the whole issue - is the media doesn't want those conversations. Dems need to completely disregard the MSM, that would be a good start to helping inform the public of where they stand, most of which the public agrees with Dems.

While I don't disagree with this at all, I think the problems the Dems are facing are far more than just this, and I think their problems are still currently growing rather than shrinking. I agree, good point, and true. I'm Independent and voted for President Biden due to his being more moderate and less far left. I think the Democrats would do better if they didn't stab each other in the back and become more united. Far left isn't as bad as far right, but they can lose elections by sitting home and pouting when their guy doesn't get nominated. I wasn't about to vote for a Beto, whose selling point was going door to door and confiscating semi-auto guns from law abiding citizens.

If Trump causes confusion by waffling on security guarantees for Ukraine or saying Ukraine and Russia can continue fighting while engaging in peace talks, I am going to state that is wrong.
I want Trump to win. That is obvious. But sometimes his idea of common sense is not mine.

Well said, you're right and I agree. It is a tall order, and these are far from normal times. I wish they would acknowledge the severity of losing in the upcoming elections and what it will do to the country and our people. I'd like to see them unite, fight harder, get louder, make more headlines, be more assertive/aggressive.
