Deficit for 2017 hits $666 billion

It is going to get a whole lot worse fast....up till a point.

BIG PAIN IS A'COMING..

BIG PAIN IS A'COMING..

No news here. We were all certain a "big pain was coming" around November of last year. Both sides like spending money, the right just prefers to spend it on wars they can't pay for and targeted tax cuts for the richest corporations. Actually how to pay for it is rarely considered. If someone on the left suggests we spend a fraction of that on real Americans it turns into "How ya gonna pay for that, comrade??". There's always enough money for guns never enough for butter.

At some point the money tree stops giving.

And yet the Republicans just keep spending. Maybe we can add another war on the credit card and forget to pay for it again. How you gonna pay for that, comrade? There's always enough of other people's money eh?

You partisans I just cant understand, the country is burning down and this is what you want to do?

The money tree, the hocus pocus these creeps who "manage" this economy do to facilitate America not making choices and not growing leaders and basically not giving a damn about doing anything right anymore.

At some point it stops giving.

And the platitudes just keep on coming... You have mastered that art of talking without saying anything. It's all the rage in D.C. I hear.

Shoulda voted Ron Paul when you had a chance. (not his son)

So as Republicans raise the deficit by increasing spending, if they don't give highly targeted tax cuts for corporations and the richest Americans, they'll all go John Galt on us and we'll be totally screwed without the steady trickle of success and wealth they bless us with?

Over the past several decades corporate profits have soared, they are more profitable than they've ever been, yet during that same time frame worker wages have steadily decreased relative to inflation and fewer and fewer hard working Americans are able to make ends meet. Better fondle their balls and give them a big tax break or they'll take their ball and go home.

And a portion of that is going right into Trumps pocket... it is costing the US taxpayer 10s of millions for his many golf vacations.

Yes the RESULTS are in Conservatives. Despite all the worthless gibberish that Trump is "already saving us money" the Deficit is UP $80 billion this year to a eerily devilish $666 Billion. Happy Halloween

Deficit for 2017 hits $666 billion - Oct. 20, 2017

The GOP Elites control Congress and there is no functional difference between them and the Democratic Elites...so deficit spending will always be the norm. But, as the article showed, it doesn't have to be this way. All Congress needs to do is pass the legislation Trump needs to advance his agenda...and that deficit will shrink substantially.

The End is Near! Eh? :)

Sadly enough, it might really be that the punch bowl is about to be taken away. You never know, when the bubble will pop, though. It could take a long time. The US is rather large with a lot of wealth. Then it happens over night.

You seem to be saying that there is hypocrisy because our two political parties are doing the same thing and accusing the other party of not doing it right.

To help you with your seeming question, there are not two parties working against each other. It is more like one league with two divisions, or perhaps more accurately, like a professional wrestling match with two "opponents" putting on a show.

It is not important who wins as long as the two parties are the ones in the match who will come back next night, next week and next year as long as the money keeps rolling in. More a performing company than proponents of opposing views.

Enters now a new producer who has snuck in a side door and is not a member of the existing company.

He's brought with him the real world and the props they are using to fight each other are exposed. The Knight of Mirrors to the sadly mystified Don Quixote's in Congress.

Sounds like we need a guy who is committed to increasing the need for workers to the point at which the wages to attract and keep employees must increase.

Apparently, the recent policies that helped produce the current declining wage situation that you describe were not well structured.

This differs from previous presidents how?

1) The amount of time. So far he has spent almost 33% of his time playing golf.
2) Where the money goes. He spends his vacations at his own resorts, which means the US government is paying the tab to Trump himself. He is literally earning millions playing golf.

You say he has spent 3 months playing golf? Link?

You say he is paying himself. Link?

Deficit for 2017 hits $666 billion - Oct. 20, 2017

The video in that news story shows the hypocrisy well.

GOP wants to spend and spend and spend when they are in charge and then only bitch about debt and deficits during dem administrations.

This is a ****ing PARTISAN country, by design. Don't you get that? And, objectively, Obama DECREASED the deficit during his term and, objectively, the Trump budget- despite all of his campaign rhetoric- intends to increase the deficit by a trillion and a half to give money to the rich. Can we please stop using the word "partisan" to accuse people of being wrong about the other party. Yes, both parties spend more than we take in in taxes. There's a vast difference, however, in how that borrowed money is spent. Education, infrastructure and helping the developing world are investments in our national and global future. Wars and giveaways to the rich are wasted resources.

Money borrowed to feed your family is not the equivalent of money borrowed to have your toilet gilded.

Asking for a link isn't an argument. Asking for a link doesn't make anyone else wrong. And when your are demanding that common knowledge be proven, it has exactly the opposite effect than you intended.

Posting an unfounded, untrue, biased and prejudiced statement saying that it's common knowledge is empty.

Demanding that others accept your delusion based only on your passion and prejudice is a departure from logic.

Support your ravings or drop them.

Thanks, President Obama!

But that ain't tax cuts. The idea that you solve deficit issues by reducing revenues in beyond nonsensical. If you care about deficits, you are not discussing tax cuts.
