fishing expedition
likely to be denied
which denial may assist in any subsequent appeal hearing
I suspect that they would be entitled to some recordings, if any exist. They want to have the ability to compare T's voice to the recorded 911 call. I do suspect that the state does not have any recordings, though. Otherwise, it would seem that would have come up at the hearing, when the lead investigator indicated they were not able to confirm who was screaming for help - just an assumption there, though.
Before Hawke gets started, I suspect they would want any recordings of T's voice even if they have not yet had an expert look at Z's voice or even if they did have an expert look at Z's voice and found a high probability of a match. They would obviously want to run T's voice through the same analysis.
the lack of specificity is why i believe this to be a fishing expedition
the prosecution will ask that the defense narrow its request to identify what was believed to have been recorded so that in can be sought
this was an effort which costs the defense little effort and might result in substantial reward, if appeal is necessary; (i don't think it will be, but plan for the worst while hoping for the best)
any audio recordings might be used to match the voice screaming for help, but the FBI was unable to discern that it was zimmerman, despite having zimmerman's voice available to them. so, if the audio matched martin's voice, identifying him as the one screaming for help would serve to undermine the defense's case
i believe the defense is trying to locate audio to convince the jury that martin was a thug, by introducing his 'drank' experiences, movement of stolen jewelry, and involvement in the drug trade

Too many people on here become hysterical if Zimmerman attempts to prepare and put on any defense at all.
Speaking about specifics, it does waste time. It has happened before. The judge has stated some of their previous motions were denied due to not being specific. I can see this one being denied and having to be re-filed.
I wonder if it was intentional.
1. Too many? It is just me:lol:
2. Hysterical? Says the guy claiming "too many"
Yes, absolutely you do NOT want voice samples of Martin to compare to what was picked up via telephone that night. You do NOT want scientific facts in this case. You want the prosecution to rely on speculation so the case can be built upon race-baiting, racism and generating hatred of Zimmerman.
As you say, actual scientific facts in the case are a waste of time in the goal of convicting Zimmerman on emotional appeal. VERY DISGUSTING.
With Sharon disappeared and the other one banned (the racist who always referred to Zimmerman as "Jorge" banned), it maybe is just you.
Just because she has not posted here does not mean she "disappeared"
You were avoiding these forums for a long time:lol:

Defense lawyers seek Trayvon's voice recordings from girlfriend
February 12, 2013|By Rene Stutzman, Orlando Sentinel
George Zimmerman's attorneys Monday asked for a new piece of evidence — all the recordings of Trayvon Martin's voice in the possession of a young Miami woman who was on the phone with him just before he was killed.
Defense attorney Mark O'Mara has described the 18-year-old woman, identified as "witness 8," as the state's most important witness.
That's because she's told authorities that she was on the phone with Trayvon several times the day he was shot, heard him say a strange man was following him, heard him say he was afraid and then heard them exchange a few words.
George Zimmerman Trayvon's voice: O'Mara: Make Trayvon's girlfriend give me recordings of his voice - Orlando Sentinel
I have to disagree. Its throwing out *feelers*
To see what sticks or does not stick
Its a common practice....
You know that
As we are dealing with voice exemplars, this is pretty much specific.the lack of specificity is why i believe this to be a fishing expedition

Yes they did.I wonder how accurate voice analysis would be if the sample of Martin's voice didn't include him screaming. Didn't they have Zimmerman scream for help when they did the comparison?? Or maybe I'm wrong. It's been awhile.
Not just from them.
I have to disagree.
It is due diligence on the part of the attorney.
As we are dealing with voice exemplars, this is pretty much specific.
They can then have Zimmerman say the same thing as Trayvon and play both back so Daisha can identify which ones were Trayvon, as she said she could tell.
And then the jury will get to hear the differences in their voices.
But who knows at this point? The Judge doesn't seem to be agreeable to much of the defenses requests.
Well we know that.Dee talked to Trayvon every day.. She knows his voice.
Well we know that.
So now explain why the guy with the higher pitched voice (Zimmerman), is being described as someone who is older.
Her story doesn't jibe.
Producing exemplars will establish that.
:dohPitch =/= old or young
Example of old (higher pitch)
Best of Herbert The Pervert - Family Guy - YouTube
Example of young (lower pitch)
Family Guy - The Best of Stewie Griffin - YouTube
:doh
Play your games all you want. Your ridiculous examples mean nothing. Nor does Stewie sound like a kid.
We already know that Zimmerman's voice doesn't sound like an old man to anybody. It sounds young and of higher pitch and tenor than Trayvon's.
And if the defense is able to produce Trayvon's voice, it will put what she says in proper perspective as a lie.
And as Trayvon's voice can clearly be heard in the 7/11 surveillance tapes, it is much deeper than Zimmerman's.
The screams were obviously Zimmerman's.

You can't speak for "everybody".. TM's voice was soft and low.. George voice is creaky and lispy..
Let's just hope they find some recording of Trayvon's voice... or do you think that George was screaming while TM was whispering in George's ear..
Maybe instead of screaming, idiot George should have told Trayvon that he was NW ....
