Could you take him out before he kills dozens more?

Like the man said, "You gotta know when to hold'em and when to fold'em"... Not much sense playing a losing hand.

You assume much... The scenario as written is a guaranteed losing hand if you run away. The only smart thing to do is play the cards that are dealt you.

I guess I am from a generation past that believed the best thing to do is face evil.

All I'm seeing from the pro-gun side is Oh, I'm a whiz on the target range.... I train for armed entries. As a professional shooter......

Jesus ****ing Christ. To me, you're all a bunch of wannabes. I don't give a flying spittoon if you've shot a half million rounds or a million rounds or 10 million rounds. It doesn't matter worth a damn if the targets aren't shooting back at you. That makes all the difference in the world. Feel a bullet whiz by your head and I guarantee your hand isn't going to be hold that Glock nearly so steady anymore. Slipping in blood and brain matter while an eight year-old girl is writhing around making sounds no human being should be able to make isn't going to improve your aim either.

But yeah... go ahead.... glory be to the guns. Praise the Lord and pass the ammo, boys.

Run away. My little runaway.

your nonsense is this: you constantly try to discredit everyone else's experience without telling us why you claim to know better. The fact is, it is hard to practice live gunfighting these days. First of all, it is illegal in most cases and secondly, if you do it constantly, you won't be around very long. So we do what we can to give ourselves the best chances in a SHTF scenario.

Last night I watched on the 8th Air Force in WW2. Nearly the end of the war, with Soviet troops less than 50 miles from Berlin - and over the strong written objection of the commanding general - massive daytime fire bombing attacks of over 1000 bombers and fighters totally devastated German cities - total destruction of the civilian areas. The president stated this was to punish ALL Germans - claiming they all were to blame and since this was the 2nd world war so they knew to never ever go to war again. In addition, Germany destroyed nearly every city the came across (Paris an exception because that German general refused to destroy Paris). Therefore, it was considered not acceptable that German cities would remain intact when Germany had totally destroyed other country's cities and towns in a scourged death invasion - and a worst scourged earth retreat back to Germany.

Warfare may start civilized in terms of civilians. But the longer and more intense a war goes on, the more civilians are targeted including because indirectly civilians support the military and a lot it has to do with retaliation and retribution.

That's just human nature, Joko. There's no changing it.... the only option you've got is to accept it or not. That's why when the ball goes down, everyone is dead. That's just acceptance. Killing just becomes verification, survival becomes a bonus.... and if you're already dead, what have you got to lose?

Interesting. Facing evil, huh? Do you need a gun to face evil?

evil comes in many forms: for the kind that dies from bullets, having a gun is often the best option

You want to do what you can to give yourself the best chance? Go work in a slaughterhouse for a while.... not some big industrialized place. Go find some small place out in the middle of nowhere. Handle the animals yourself. Coax'em up the ramp to the killing cage. Get to know them - they've all got their own personalities. Give them a little pet down to calm their nerves. Maybe a little grain to distract them. Then put a bullet in their brains. Then gut'em, skin'em, split'em and roll them into the cooler. Get used to the gore to the point it just doesn't affect you anymore. Then you're about as a experienced as you can hope to be.

That thing where it's hard to kill another human is a myth. And that you suffer after you do it is a myth too. Unless you knew them personally.

Humans are built to kill other humans.

I have thousands of years of history on my side.

Please. Reread the scenario as written before asking stupid questions.

I have read it. And that's why I've assessed a defensive posture to be the appropriate one to take. If the shooter decides he's had enough, you won't need a gun to stop him. And if he hasn't, you're going to be more of a liability than an asset in an offensive posture. That's just a fact.

I have shot and dressed out at least a couple dozen deer, hundreds of other critters. Still waiting for you to tell us what exactly your credentials are to be lecturing the rest of us

How about a four wheel drive accident where one young lady was partially ejected as the truck rolling down a rock strewn hillside. Three tourniquets were still not enough to stem the loss of blood. The skull soft to the touch. There soft moaning that lasted what seemed to be hours. One leg stripped of flesh from knee to ankle. The moaning dying away. Then doing CPR on a corpse because her boyfreind was screaming we needed to do "something". The taste of blood and God knows what else. CPR for nearly half an hour before I could convince boyfreind she was gone. Listening to him screaming at the sky....

Soon after....

Finding another girl who had no visible injuries. Chatted with her then watching her eyes roll up and the breathing stopped... Trying CPR and finding out her chest cavity felt like a bag of clothes hangers. Again tasting blood and other things as I worked CPR again....

Does that count?

Yeah... that's just talk, though. It's what you think, not what you know.

Your opinion is noted.

And in the scenario he WASN'T DONE.

But please. Don't let that fact change your desire to do nothing.

Yeah... never felt the need to carry a gun in public as a civilian. If I'm going to a range, I'll have an unloaded gun in it's case. If I'm going hunting or plinking, I'll have a rifle over my shoulder or sheathed.

But walking around town packing heat? Never felt the need. What tool are you trying to compensate for in that situation?

What is "compensating". We have a farm in the middle of no where. We have times we need a gun and are too far away to go run and get one. Are you going to stand around and cry if a coyote or feral dog is killing a $5000 animal? All "You people" who think getting rid of rover by dumping him in country farm areas disgust me to no end. Man up and have a vet put them to sleep. We also harvest and process our own animals for food. Take wild game as legal.

Then let us talk of being prepared for what ever comes your way. I do not care who you are. Life can and will place you in situations you would opt never to face. Out in the boonies it is not uncommon for no response to come from 911 calls. Or 45 minutes to an hour. Suddenly taking your own responsibility for life, limb and property are in your lap. So please, cram and rotate that stupid "Compensating" meme.

Sorry to hear. Have had similar unforgettable nightmares from first on the scene experiences as well.

Hell there are live stock guardian puppies that cost more then that.Saw some plain Randall Lineback heifers this week for $8000 each. Lamas are stupid expensive. Pretty much any form of champion line animal is going to be well over $10K.

Our top animal is a pure white, blue eyed, naturally polled Nigerian Dwarf Billy. Pretty rare critter. No telling what he would pull down at a big State Auction Expo. He was the result of first pick of the litter with one of our champion nanny's and a Champion Billy at a near by farm we work with.

Rich2018 being Rich2018....

Asks questions. Ignores answers.

Cries about dictionary definitions. Then posts a dictionary definition.

Cries about "Rabbit Holing" that wasn't. While constantly rabbit holing.

Rather than respond to others he quotes himself....

And....

Playing stupid.
