Confederate the term, does not necessarily imply the confederacy, as in Confederate states of America.

"Confederates" are allies. It could be said that Joy Behar, Whoopie Goldberg, and Joy Reid are "confederates".

So.... when the OP said shot by confederates in Chicago. I just assume that it was like kind people shooting each other and not some White rednecks from Alabama. And who are the like kind people always shooting each other in Chicago?
