The staff report released by the office of Sen. Richard Blumenthal (Conn.)—the ranking Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI)—only focuses on waste by DOGE that can be quantified in the here and now. It finds that in just six months of operation, DOGE wasted more than $21 billion.

This comes at "the very same time," Blumenthal said, that "the Trump administration is cutting healthcare, nutrition assistance, and emergency services in the name of 'efficiency' and 'savings,'" via the recently passed "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," which itself is projected to add $3.4 trillion to the federal deficit over the next 10 years.

It's part of not only being impartial but APPEARING to be so, which is as important. I've had my issues with individuals and a nasty run with a certain moderator,but at the end of the day this is the best of a bad lot.

However considering American politics and who is hogging the limelight 24/7 that's to be expected. But then on this side of the border we have ONE guy; Carney. Nothing seems to happen with any of his cabinet, the Conservatives have a leader he 's just turned invisible, and, I suspect, irrelevant.

Every day there are at least a dozen new stories about him alone and another dozen about the collection of morons he's assembled as a 'cabinet'. I am sorry but I cannot read an item of about JFK junior and not laugh until I choke. It's fatiguing.

I am not complaining about the number of leftist on this site...I expected that to be after my first day of posting way back when.
My complain is all the hate by the left on this site and in general. The left seems to relish in picking the wrong side of a lot of issues that the American people disagree with them.

And no.

Trump has certainly altered the dynamic from the Bush days, where we knew he was corrupt and said so and to this, where the corruption appears to be accepted.

What I have noticed is that Trump has driven OPINION. What was moderate right or left appears left because it is anti-corruption, pro decency.

The problem is Trump has evaporated any legitimate argument out of the right; most of the members I respect appear to have faded or quit all together and there is generally less and less defense of the indefensible.

Which leaves a smattering of die hard dunder heads. Through the years I've put most of them on "ignore" as their arguments pale more and more, become parroting of the party line, and a waste of band width. Some people post the same message every time, without change....or may as well.

The result is the site appears to swing left, when in fact the right is out of argument, has nothing valid to say, and is merely trying to keep fingers in Trump's dike having lost the moral ground.

It's not the site...its the nation. Reason has left the building...in disgust.
