Trump can fire any administrative staff whenever he wants for whatever reason.
There is validity to the question. Its not a gotcha thing. You have lied at some point in your life. I have as well. I'm sure everyone has lied at some point. That's not the same as being a liar. A liar is someone that calculates and commits to lie based on convenience and advantage. It goes to the question of trustworthiness and integrity.Defining liar as any person who has ever told a lie, yes. He's a liar.
Which, again, is not really a useful point of discussion.
He's 6' 8 and what does size have to do with it?This should be awesome. We should also expect for the FBI to turn over all those memos, and then it will be fun to hear how the 6'5" head of the FBI can claim he felt threatened or intimidated to obstruct justice but didnt report it throgh the appropriate channels for 4 months. This should get exciting!
I imagine what with all the 'evidence' presented to date, the arrests should be coming any day now.
I believe there are honest people that misspeak. I believe there are people that intentionally lie that are by definition liars and consequently, demonstrate their word is only as valid as their advantage. Would you agree that is a fair answer?
Do us both a favor and read forward in the thread. As you do...note...I comment about both his physical stature and his political position...in my statement that I look forward to hearing how he felt threatened. He's 6' 8 and what does size have to do with it?
No. Everyone over the age of four has told a lie intentionally at some point in their lives. Therefore every person is a liar.
Yup, two relevant things right there.
1. Comey is director of the FBI, having the rule of law behind him
2. Comey is 6'5".
Will be interesting to see how he handles the pointed questions from Senators on his having a major height advantage on the President.
You should really actually follow a conversation before you decide to just jump in.I'm not sure why you think his height is relevant. Who do you trust when the President of the United States is attempting to obstruct justice, the Vice President is known to have lied about what he knew of Flynn, the Attorney General has a conflict of interest in the broader case, and members of Congress serving on committees that are supposed to be providing oversight and conducive to investigation are actively and openly hostile to the investigation? The answer is no one until you figure out exactly how deep that rabbit hole goes.
Yes, he can fire people. So what? I can trade money for goods and services, but if i buy an illegal drug, that's still illegal.
Looks like obstruction of justice is still in play.
Comey to testify publicly about Trump confrontations
Fired FBI director James Comey plans to testify publicly in the Senate as early as next week to confirm bombshell accusations that President Donald Trump pressured him to end his investigation into a top Trump aide's ties to Russia, a source close to the issue said Wednesday.

"So why didn't you mention this 4 months ago, Director Comey."
"Uh......"
"So now this is relevant since you were fired?"
"Uh......"
"We're done here."
" A source close to the issue says "....hmmm
If Trump pressured Comey to shut down the investigation why didnt Comey report it to the DOJ.....as required by law ?
Comey would be breaking the law and as the FBI head and a former prosecutor he would know that NOT reporting obstruction would land him with a felony charge
Its unusual because now if the " source " is to be believed Comey's testimony will prove obstruction.
Have you seen comments by Comey that directly said he felt threatened or intimidated in ANY way physically OR professionally? Yes or no and if yes...publish the source.
Mobster: "I'll kill your cat and have his head delivered to your front porch if you testify"
Informant: Testifies, has cat's head delivered to his front porch. Reports it to authorities.
GOP member of Congress: Why is it relevant NOW that Mobster killed your cat and had its head dropped on your doorstep?"
I have to admit, that kind of boneheaded thinking is what we should expect from the GOP Congress these days. Absolute deliberate cluelessness.

Dood...thats a dance. You asked a straightforward question and I answered it. I am asking you a straightforward question. Is James Comey a liar?
Now 1 clear question
For the sake of discussion- If Trump did ask Comey to halt the investigation into Flynn's ties to Russia- What would your opinion be
Oh no...I think we are making fine progress here. So...by your admission anyone that claims it happened is themselves...lying. Awesome. Now....have you seen DIRECT QUOTES from former director Comey that President Trump "may have tried to intimidate him by implying that Comey could lose his job if he didnt play ball" and if so...please provide that source. We could save time here if you would read. I said in the post you are commenting on, "I've seen no reports that Comey felt
intimidated".
I answered that question. Completely. No dancing- my question was clear, concise and described a particular siutuaion- Yours is wide ranging. Try narrowing it down to specifics.
Here was my question.
Wow!
If accurate, that would be a bombshell. It might deserve it's own thread.
It seems the only thing missing is an indie committee, and it would be nice if Comey's testimony spurred that on, but I don't think it will. But without an indie committee, much of what happens won't become public unless Mueller goes public with a report. And he has no obligation to go public. He can simply say "indict or "not indict", and it's all over (with the citizens left in the dark).
An indie committee would be better for public rest, regardless of the outcome, once this is all over.
There was evidence of a crime. Now, there is no evidence of a crime. See the difference?
I answered that question. Completely.
Is James Comey a liar?
Physical stature is relevant. Comey was the director of the FBI and had the rule of law behind him...also relevant. Its funny watching you people squirm. I stated quite clearly...I look forward to seeing how a 6'5" director of the FBI felt cowed and threatened. So much so that he never in 4 months expressed that he had been threatened.
I am simply attempting to ascertain if you and others here feel that James Comey is trustworthy. If testimony he gives under oath is honest or if it is self serving. Can he be trusted to say what he means and mean what he says.In some ways yes as we all are. Now can we clarify as to what you are referring to.
Comey has the least credibility of anyone in this whole debacle of an investigation.
It started when he chose to speak on behalf of the DoJ with the Hillary findings and not move forward despite a mountain of evidence against her.
Now, he's going to testify that he was coerced to stop an investigation four months ago, and he didn't say or do anything about this coercion?
Might as well let Rachel Maddow testify on his behalf.
