Colorado Planned Parenthood shooting: Suspect captured, officer killed

A police officer shot during Friday's siege at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs has died, the Colorado Fraternal Order of Police said on Twitter.

Planned Parenthood officials believe all staff and patients from the are accounted for after Friday's shooting at the facility, said Vicki Cowart, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.

"We're still reaching out to confirm individuals, how they are. I believe no one of our staff was severely injured. I also believe at this time that none of our patients were injured," she told CNN.

If this truly is abortion motivated, it is terrorism, IMO. People may disagree with abortion, but violence just hurts their cause.

All the GOP hoopla by Cruz and Paul may have triggered this (no pun intended).

Similar in that respect to the Tucson shooting a while back.

There are wacko's everywhere who are influenced by the wacko's in the GOP on tv.

The rush to judgment is unreasonable and unseemly. All that's known is that an armed crazy who brought other "stuff" with him--not yet identified--shot and killed people.

Agreed. That is why I said "if" in my OP - though it does look pretty suspicious, to open fire in a PP clinic, when other clinics have been set on fire, doctors have been killed in the past etc. Until more info is available, I won't say for sure that it is anti abortion related.

And it might well be. But whatever in this man's sick mind was a "rationale" is secondary, at least to me. Anybody who walks into a clinic, sorority house, elementary school, church, restaurant or wherever and commits murder is crazy, and that craziness is what's primary.

Do you have any evidence that this particular 'wacko' can be linked back to the GOP in some way? No. You don't. So your opinion is worth nothing.
