Conservatives: The people who've convinced themselves that mankind has already reached its peak and that all forward human progress should be aggressively halted. They typically have nostalgic and historically inaccurate views of their childhood to which they'd like to return. Remember the good ol' days? Back when gays, blacks and women had no rights and everything was just too perfect to change? They've existed in every society, forever roadblocks to human progress and compassion.
Conservative has turned into a "one track term" just like "Liberal".
I'm a Conservative spender that uses and requires a Liberal amount of information to progress with today's situations.
Yesterday, these terms were "less of" vs "more of". Today, corporations want to limit the thought process into the smallest amount of groups possible. Republican and Democrat failed, so they turned Con vs Lib.
Less spending, More thinking, Less oppression, more Freedom.
NOTHING IN HISTORY FUNCTIONED WELL WITHOUT UPDATES AND/OR CLEANING. UPDATES AND CLEANING ARE PROGRESS.

Ya know, when I was posting this I just KNEW that someone was going to come along and post something to this affect. And lo and behold!...post #2 does not disappoint me.

Wow, college kids have a shortsighted, not-yet-developed view on something. Must be the libtard indoctrination!
I met a few "college Republicans" who had some utterly moronic ideas about liberals too.
The robots have been well programmed.
I wonder how many of those college kids were fed that drivel from their professors?
I was expecting to hear them say some absurd things and yet the majority of what was said was reasonable. Defending the status quo, a phrase used multiple times, is essentially the dictionary definition of what conservatism is. The only part I found interesting was their naive view of "progressivism." Other than that, what about the video did you find so interesting?
Yeah actually, it is.![]()
No it is not. The definition of Conservative is "adverse to change or innovation and holding traditional values".
Hmm...did you even watch the video?
None of these students have been mugged yet.
Listening beyond the stereotypical opinions, I find it quite illuminating that none of those students talked about the MAJOR difference between conservative and progressive:
Progressives think it is necessary to use government power as much as possible to achieve their ends, while conservatives think it's necessary to curtail government power and let the individual decide for themselves as much as possible.
I suppose these young people, having lived their whole lives with a central government enacting rules, regulations, mandates, etc., can't even conceive of a life in which THEY control what happens to them.

Except that Conservatism =/= "They typically have nostalgic and historically inaccurate views of their childhood to which they'd like to return. Remember the good ol' days?
Back when gays, blacks and women had no rights and everything was just too perfect to change?"
