College football has became a detriment to higher education.

Except she didn't say that was her total tuition cost, just how much she has in loans that will be due after graduation. If her total tuition cost is around $100k total, and covered by loans, scholarships, grants, then she would be correct that 10% of the total tuition cost could be $10k, or half of what her loans currently are. And it actually makes sense, since 23k times 4 is $92k and 2340 x 4 = 9360, and that's if she only did 4 years rather than 5 or 6. But $9360 is pretty close to half of $20k, especially if that $20k is rounded up to.

It's primarily the librul Ivy league universities that charge outrageous tuition in the US. And they do it for the sake over paying outrageous salaries to radical and narccistic professors who spend more time indoctrination students then teaching them.
 
Are you referring to Oxford or our US equivalents?
 
They have evidence of these fees being charged, specifically covering athletics at these universities within the US.
 
Just curious, where did you go to college? I went to James Madison University on a football scholarship. I dropped out my junior year after I cracked a couple of vertebrae in my neck the last game of the season. After I joined the Army I used military assistance to get my Bachelors Degree in Business.

I transfered my post 9/11 college benefits to my daughter. Long story short, she spent her first two years at community College, then used my benefits to get her Bachelors and her Masters. She's a Math Professor at UTSA now and will soon be working on her Docterite Degree in Applied Mathimatics.

Neither of us had radical leftist Professors in college, for **** sake, she's a professor now and she isn't a radical leftist. I don't know where you guys get this bullshit.
 
I also financed my way through college on the GI Bill after a tour in the Army. Where I attended is not important. It was not an ivy league university.
I wish her fullfillment and prosperity.

But then it appears that neither of you went to Harvard, Yale, or any similar radical institution. As for where 'us guys" get the alleged bullshit:, observe what is now going on at Columbia University and similar institutions and has in the past, where they are apparently not taught the first amendment and shout down guest speakers they do not agree with.

Ever ask yourself why rightists aren't more involved in higher education? At a policy level. Why you and everyone like you assumes it's a leftist thing?

They are involved in higher education in useful fields, engineering for instance. Perhaps not so much in the liberal arts areas. I'ver known a few individuals with liberal arts degrees that end up working at the state dock unloading bananas or on fishing boats.

Even though Oxford and Cambridge are among the most famous universities in the world they don't have a sports stadium.
They do have an anual boat race that's been going for a hundred odd years but that doesn't require vast infrastructure.

Absolutely false, College Football has evolved yet again but as such has started to further chip away at the scam going on between major conferences and the universities. Who themselves overall are raking in Billions per year, where some of those colleges are approaching the 9th figure.

As in $100,000,000... per year... on one sport... in one season.

It is well time to revenue share with those that liberals / progressives used to want to see get more.

Yep, student debt is bloody rediculous.
About 15 years ago (I think I could be way off it was when the Lib Dems got into a co-alition with the conservatives) I voted for the Lib Dems as theyre top manifesto pledge was to abolish tuition fees and I think uni should be free for all.
The Lib Dems then got into a co-alition with the conservaties and given the Deputy PM job which is a complete joke of a job and they sold their soul and dropped the no tuition fee pledge.
The party Leader of the lib dems and deputy PM became (Nick Clegg, google the smarmy bastard if you like) so unpopular for this choice after he left the job he basically fled the country and got the job of vice‑president of global affairs and communications at Facebook so screw that wanker.

Just so you know I'm 48 so I'm a bit old for UNI and I doubt they would pay for me even if it was free.

Team GB has been totally dominant at Rowing for a few decades now and we plough a ton of money into it. Yes, it's not the most well watched sport but we seem to be rather good at it. The Veldrome events as well.

The average debt of students in England (Scotland has free uni) is £45k which is just bloody stupid and would certainly make me think twice if I were about to start.

The government has been conservative for 14 years now and we went through a decade of austerity where public spending was severely restricted to try to pay the debt so yes, there have been quite a few protests about funding and public sector workers just not getting pay rises.

That was a huge problem with my school, sports were always financed better than schools because schools are now businesses…
