(CNN) ABC says ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ racked up 6.3 million viewers on broadcast in his late-night return

Well, that's both true and untrue.

It's not that the genre is dying, it's that broadcast TV is dying. People are still watching all of those shows - they're just watching them as clips on YouTube.

Bingo!

When watching TV, don't ever tell a younger person to "adjust the rabbit ears". They'll go out in the back yard, and start looking in bushes . . .

What makes you think that was his intent?

Yeah, his remaining problem is that he's still not very funny.

Having never watched Kimmel, nor really any of the late night Comedian Political Commenter guys, I did note that: He wasn't particularly funny.

He had some reasonable moments. And, there was decent humour in some of the skits themselves. But it was kinda' like Seinfeld; the show was better than star.

That's not to say Kimmel was bad. The material was pretty good. But he was nothing spectacular, personally.

Hopefully, those Christians that lean right politically are discerning enough to know that much of what Kirk espoused is antithetical to the teachings of Christ. IOW, not Christian at all.
Since I am no longer a practicing Catholic I am not going to venture into the realm of what is anti-thetical to Christ or not.

Flattery will get you everywhere! (y)

Kimmel stood-up to defend the Right to Free Speech against a tyrannical, authoritative, government.

Do not underestimate the draw of this.

He gets exalted to the man of the moment who stood and prevailed.

No, there's no "wins" to be had there.
I appreciate you being the barometer of the Left.

Tell us, Chomsky, you're a reasonable person.
What in the world did Kimmel do last night to come out on stage to deserve a two-minute standing ovation from his adoring fans.?
Does he get some sort of Defiant Citizen's Medal for seeming to stand up to Trump and the FCC, and Disney who put him on leave?

I guess the Left side of the country needs some sort of counterpoint to Charlie Kirk, the Christian martyr of the Right, whose message is now energizing young Christians of the Right.

Wake me up when he starts implying folks are abomination to God lol

Everyone expected Kimmel to get a big first night rating, as people tuned in to see if he would apologize or if he would double down with something even more scummy to say.
Most likely he will soon return to his usual third place slot among the three main broadcast networks.

More eyeballs means more exposure.

Kimmel is not sorry.

Nor was his sorry ass for a guest, Gavin Newsom who just can't seem to stop inciting the leftist haters on the fringe of society. It's pathetic that he and Kimmel have no self-awareness at all when it comes to adding to the fires.

Well, that's the free market in action, isn't it?

You really don't get it, do you?

I believe Kimmel is second to Colbert, and ahead of Fallon.

Yes. Yes. No.

Guessing is what the right does...why we have Trump ****ing everything up. But feel free, we deserve a laugh.

Or...do you think EVERYTHING is going just dandy??????????

Given that the numbers I've seen are indicating Jimmy Kimmel Live averages 1.4-1.6M television viewers per day, yesterday's 6M+ telivision viewers is a nice jump up for Kimmel.

It's even more remarkable given that Conservative media has silenced him in 25% of his former markets. So he drew 6M+ from only 75% of his market!

And perhaps more remarkable yet, is his streaming YouTube channel is receiving over 1M views per hour, tallying tens of millions more views!

And best for Jimmy and his network and affiliates? He seems to be running strongest in the coveted 18-49 age demographic! Read: Jimmy's advertising rates & revenue just skyrocketed!

It seems those that insisted "nobody watches Jimmy Kimmel", were a bit off the mark.

Who knew Americans cared bout Free Speech?

(I kid, I kid)
These same people will stop buying products advertised on Sinclair and Nextstar.

Trump's tinkering made an international star out of a third rate talent.

I watched all of 90 seconds of one of the original Seinfeld episodes and never returned. BORING!!!!! PREDICTABLE!!!!!!!! BAD ACTING!!!!!!!!

It was a writers show, not a a comedians.
