(CNBC) Education Department says Columbia University fails to meet accreditation standards

I get a kick out of MAGAs worrying about “antisemitism”

Let’s face it, that’s just the label on the bucket they’re currently using to carry the water for their beloved TACO.

There is literally nothing they won’t defend.

Remember who they are.

Columbia U. is not being singled out. They cannot claim victimhood in this matter.
Columbia is being held to the same standards as every other institution of higher learning. If a university fails to meet accreditation standards due to their own fault by ignoring violations of federal antidiscrimination laws, specifically Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 due to their failure to protest Jewish students from hate and harassment, then they deserve their comeuppance.

I'm aware of one act of antiemetic violence occurring at Columbia.

That's hardly a convincing argument.

“After Hamas’ October 7, 2023, terror attack on Israel, Columbia University’s leadership acted with deliberate indifference towards the harassment of Jewish students on its campus.”

“This is not only immoral, but also unlawful,” McMahon said.

🤣

Well, Mrs. World Wrestling Federation said so, so it must be true.

MAGAs are such bootlickers for people who claim to care about "freedom."

The good news for you is that the speech allowed or disallowed by a private university is not a first amendment issue.
The bad news for you is that you’ve crawled into bed with rabid anti-semites for naught.

Again, I stand behind the 1st A. And so should all of my fellow citizens, including yourself.

Like I said, the Constitution is not a pick & choose cafeteria plan.

It is not an easy thing to stand for the rights of speech you do not like. But that's exactly what the Constitution prescribes. The 1st A was enacted to protect the speech we most do not like.

The administration allowed anti-Semitic students to openly call for the genocide of Jews with impunity. An activity inspired by, encouraged, and actively participated in by some of their professors also with impunity. They allowed Jewish students to be spat upon, harassed, intimidated, kicked out of student groups, physically prevented from attending classes, and assaulted with impunity. They allowed people with no affiliation with the university whatsoever on their campus to participate in that. They allowed their professors to verbally abuse, degrade, and intimidate Jewish students in the classroom.

Their empty words now that they aren’t being protected by an indifferent White House don’t cut the mustard. Colombia must be punished for its violations of federal law in accommodating that on their campus.

🤣

Didn't follow up on that story, did you?

The Manhattan district attorney’s office is moving to dismiss the case against Malaika Friedman, the former Columbia College student who faced felony hate crime charges for allegedly assaulting an Israeli School of General Studies student on Oct. 11, 2023, in front of Butler Library.

After reviewing the case evidence, including witness accounts and footage, the district attorney’s office concluded last month that video footage of the incident does not support the allegation that Friedman intentionally struck the student with a stick. The district attorney’s office has already removed all charges against Friedman from its online database.

. . .

Following an examination of the evidence, the district attorney’s office wrote in a Tuesday statement to Spectator that video of the incident instead captures the General Studies student reaching and grabbing as he walked in the direction of Friedman and Friedman moving away while waving what appears to be a dowel.

The district attorney’s office also noted that, while the student initially believed his finger was fractured, a further examination confirmed that his finger was sprained.

Huh?

the district attorney’s office concluded last month that video footage of the incident does not support the allegation

Well gollee! How about that? Fake accusation!

Thank you!

The district attorney’s office has already removed all charges against Friedman from its online database.

And the falsely accused deserves a public apology, I think.

I would suspect they have a civil suit coming.

Why is it "capitulation to a tyrant" to obey the law? If discrimination is bad for one protected class, why is it OK for another?

Why are you asking stupid questions?

Anti-semitism has metastasized in the left so you’ll never get an answer to that question. See above.

Well, it gets even worse for your assertions. It appears that the "one violent case" I earlier referenced, was determined to be a fake accusation. The DA declared their was no evidence to back-up the assertion, and in fact the DA cited video evidence directly contradicting the assertion.

I'd say the falsely accused has a civil suit coming from their accuser.

Now to you, once again, I have no idea why you're attempting to justify your failure to support the U. S. Constitution.

But you seem intent on couching your arguments in every-which-way possible, to avoid your sidestepping it.

And BTW, it's "Columbia, not "Colombia".

Which one?
Now to you, once again, I have no idea why you're attempting to justify your failure to support the Constitution Of The United States.
Because the Constitution has nothing to do with what a private university like Columbia allows on its campus.

Because the Constitution has nothing to do with what a private university like Columbia allows on its campus.

But the Constitution has everything to do with what the Government is allowed to demand Columbia does, on its campus.

That's the part you're not getting.

Columbia University is an Ivy League school founded in 1754.
And snobbery won’t save them from meeting the same fate as ITT Technical Institute if and when they lose accreditation for failing to adequately remedy antisemitism. That’s a pretty wild hill for Columbia to die on in the 21st century.

From the article -
"The department’s Office for Civil Rights in early February began investigating Columbia for possible discrimination or enabling harassment of Jewish students and faculty in violation of Title VI, the section of the Civil Rights Act that bars recipients of federal funding from discriminating on the basis of race, color or national origin."

Can you believe the incredible f'ing irony of Trump attacking anything on the basis that they were discriminating on the basis of race, color, or national origin????
