President Obama’s public backing of a Texas high school freshman, who got national headlines last week when his homemade clock was mistaken for a bomb by teachers, could be causing a headache for the White House and other supporters as questions are being raised about the motives in the case.

Fourteen-year-old Ahmed Mohamed’s father has said he now plans to withdraw the freshman from MacArthur High School, and said Monday that they intend to visit New York City where he says they will meet with dignitaries at the United Nations, before making a pilgrimage to Mecca and later visiting Obama at the White House, The Dallas Morning News reported.

It was not immediately clear which dignitaries had requested a meeting with Mohamed.

"Would you approve of a Muslim POTUS?"

Only dolts are complaining and finding excruciatingly silly "doubts" based on the kid's religion and skin colour. They can be ignored with impunity.

Only dolts make this about race. It's actually about political ideology disguised as a religion.

Anyone else already tired of the fiasco this story has become?

"Would you approve of a Muslim POTUS?"

Given the history of extremist Islam attacks on this country, given that extremist Islam wants to overthrow this country in any way possible, I would be a liar if I said I'd be comfortable with a Muslim in the White House at this time. It really depends on the individual and if that person puts this country first over their Islamic faith. For example, if you asked the left wing if they'd approve of a Christian person like Kim Davis as POTUS they'd scream bloody murder "NO!". Why? Because Kim Davis puts her faith above her office. Is that discriminatory? Dunno.... but the far left hates the evangelical right and ever election would NEVER vote for someone who's evangelical regardless of their political views. Funny that the same doesn't apply to extremist Muslims who have killed thousands of people in the US and world wide... but evangelicals are really the one's to watch.

My political sense agrees with the following cartoon... which is spot on IMO.

Does make one wonder.

Actually it's hard to grasp how any Pol that expresses a belief in God could run for an office that requires you to put your faith aside. True faith should come before political ideology.

I didn't realize a 14 year old from Texas was going to have so much sway and influence in the White House.

Meaning that a person who is truly faithful to God, should not run for President, or possibly, for any elected office which may conflict with their faith.

Should have been handled locally and with common sense.
We are being told that we should be aware, but that doesn't mean we should get hysterical over everything we may find potentially dangerous. Sure, there is always the "what if" scenario, but more often than not, we will find a reasonable explanation.
We can't overreact over everything, or we will be our worst enemy.
Having said that, I think that POTUS should mind more important things instead of selectively getting involved in matters before he knows the entire story. I realize that we live in an era of quick change and instant everything, but again, let common sense prevail.

'fraid so. Not if one must ignore his or her faith to govern.

Exodus 18:21

21 “Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens."

We as a country and our leaders are running very low of the commodity called: Common Sense.

Yeah, that's really panned out well for us

Did we ever do it right? or do some just ignore the successes?

For almost the entire history of this country, Christians have been the elected officials. Now we still have Christian majorities. There are no atheists, I know of now Muslims (Obama is a Christian). And look where Christian leadership has taken this once great Republic.

As I sarcastically said, "that's really panned out well for us".

Progressives disguised as Christians. They didn't govern according to God's law or we wouldn't have legalized abortion or SSM.

And therein lies the problem. And not just the Muslim problem.

The Republic has degraded far before this point in age.

Still, we keep electing Christians (though you'll question how Christian they really are, "no such thing as a true Scotsman" fallacy) and this is where we got. Driven to the lowest common denominator, standing around bickering and pointing fingers while real people suffer.

So it didn't really pan out for us. Will Muslims or Atheists really do any worse than what the Christians have already done? Doubtful.

When do you think the Progressive movement started? [which is nothing but Communism in sheep's clothing.]

That's just a red herring. Centuries of Christian rule has brought the Republic to its current state. Just a fact. As I stated, any other group wouldn't do any worse. You want to say "No Muslim Presidents", well we've never had anything but Christian presidents. You want to say we have to choose Christians to lead this country, to maintain its greatness; but that's obviously not true because we've elected such and the Republic is in neigh ruins.

and what about the dolts who automatically defend him for exactly that reason?

It already has backfired. The kid didn't build the clock. He just bought it and put it in a new case. The whole thing is a hoax and obozo has made a fool of himself again. Just like with trayvon. Obozo takes sides on an issue before the facts are in.

Then you don't understand who got us here. And you're totally going against the Left's premise that this has never been a Christian country

Then you don't understand who got us here.

I do, in fact, understand who got us here. It's just you don't want to acknowledge it.
