Well, on the one hand it is a valid part of the process. Recounts happen all the time at all levels of elections...even in High School.
The issues I have with this attempt include:
1. Jill Stein being the point person for this recount. She has no political dog in this fight because she had the lowest vote support in each challenged State and virtually no chance of winning any electoral votes. Her motivations and the rapidity of successful funding are questionable.
2. Accepting the results. Hillary made much of Trump's unwillingness to commit to accepting the election results, echoed by her avid supporters prior to her losing the election. That she is now willing to buy into this recount, with the rabid support of her disappointed constituents, points to the inherent hypocrisy of their ideological positions.
3. That they think there will be no repercussions among the millions of Americans who thought the process was fairly conducted, and were appalled by the often violent reactions of the so-called Party of Tolerance and Acceptance.
4. That Congress will select someone else. That there is some weird hope that even if Hillary doesn't get enough EC votes to win, if they can reduce the EC vote enough they can then get Congress (which is controlled by the Republican Party) to select someone other than Trump (i.e. Hillary) from the remaining candidates.
Still I am not overly concerned other than by a possible delay in Trump taking office.
IMO a recount will only solidify the fact Trump won the electoral votes, and demonstrate the validity of our Founder's electoral college system. I have no fears of this so...go ahead and recount. :coffeepap:
