Chris Christie made an excellent point on The View

Mere seconds after Harris mentioned Trump's crowd sizes:

- Trump completely avoided the question about why he killed the border bill, and instead took pains to make sure everyone knew just how massive his crowd sizes are.
- That's also when he went off the deep end with the whole, "they're eating the dogs" psychosis.

She pulled one thread and he took the bait and came unraveled over it. If Kamala knows how easy he can be manipulated, then it's assured that Putin, Xi, and Un know it too. They can manipulate him, and by extension America if he's President, just with a simple little dig like that. It's no wonder why they're pulling for him to win.

Joy asked about testosterone?
What on Earth, lady...LOL.
I'm approaching seventy and I guarantee you I fit the description of a horndog dirty old man better than most, but I KNOW that my testosterone level is nothing like it was in my youth... Not even a fraction.

Trump is seventy-eight years old and eats KFC and McDonald's every day when he's not fapping over Putin pics on his phone.
How much testosterone does Joy Behar think he has? 😆😆😆

Ooof... rough pic. But, yeah, this is what I'm talking about. This is a different Trump than the first time around.
That's a photo of him storming off stage during one of the breaks in the debate.

He doesn't look like a guy who thinks he's winning.

No. It's because the republican party backed him. It backed him because republicans are looking at the demographics and they're afraid of what they see.

@Loulit01 get the better COLOR version of the Venn Tee! 😆

That's him storming?? Ok, I misinterpreted that image, I thought that was him leaving for the night. He looks more like he needs to ask for directions than anything resembling "storming"...

So logically everyone hungry for money and power, must have a small pee pee.

Hmm. Lyndon Baines Johnson who reputedly had a whopper in his pants, said "I will not seek, nor will I accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your President"

I think it would be appropriate to introduce a new condition to be President. The person must be tested for penis length (using the stretch method on the flacid penis if any) and if by some freak of nature the President does not have a penis, then some new method of measurement should be introduced when it is statistically meaningful to do so.

Not reputedly...the man whipped it out on several occasions in front of reporters. 😆
He said he named it "Jumbo".

I'm at peace with the possibility of a Trump implosion
I just want this to go away but the prognosis is not good.
There's no cure-all for a national deficit in emotional maturity. These MAGA people refused to grow up a long time ago so it's not going to change much. They are who and what they are and that's that. A third of America are now crybabies who want to cheat and then project that on others when caught. Some nine year olds are more accountable than that.
FACT: Thirty percent of America have the emotional maturity of an eight year old.
We are counting on the seventy percent who are emotionally mature.

Christie’s schmuck. Candidly I have no use for the man. He literally stole $50K+ from me and it continues to climb every month.

That stated his review of the debate seeks relatively accurate.

At 78 years old, "Trumpism" can only last so much longer, and there's no one as charismatic as Trump carrying that flag, so ... this too shall pass, I believe. What it will be replaced with...? I feel like it's going to be a minute before I stop flinching against the unknown, after what the last few years have been.
What I'm wondering though is if the MAGA cult can remain in control of the Republican Party after Trump is gone.

"Eating cats and dogs" is an old meme about Chinese food.

The racists still ate plenty of Chinese food, because it was (and still is) tasty and cheap. But in some way they thought they had to apologize, as if given the choice they would have eaten roast beef and potatoes.

A more humorous take is "flied lice" for the common Chinese takeaway fried rice. I use that one myself, but only if I fried the rice.

there's a lot to unpack in there

I feel like Trumpism has inoculated the younger folks against some of these things

I also feel like Trumpism has opened the eyes of a lot of folks who may not have previously realized the things you are saying in your post above.

I agree there's work to be done.
But.
I am optimistic about America

I suppose it boils down to how many votes they can bring in. No different from any other party, I guess.

There's a part of me that believes a lot of American conservatives are stuck in a sunk cost fallacy. Trump being out of the picture might provide a surprising amount of relief who feel they must vote for him - kinda like how Trudeau being replaced would give a lot of us some relief up here.

So it depends on the base. If they still have an appetite for more of the same, then more of the same they'll get. At least, that's what I think...who knows, it's America. ;)

That makes you a rational conservative and I respect you for that.

I expect a new major political party to appear

idk how long it will take to get it up and running

maybe the Democrats will split
The Democratic Party might change. I've seen it happen before, both directions. The Dixiecrat conservatives/populists left the Democratic Party after Wallace failed, again, to win the nomination and the eastern liberal 'Rockefeller Republicans' left the GOP after Reagan and Goldwater and other westerners turned it into a conservative bastion.
The MAGA's might fade back away after Trump but if they become a permanent voice and influence the Democratic Party might become centrist and, in that case might be the sole Federal party for the next while.

Yeah, it's gonna be a lot. As much as I don't like the man, I don't wish ill on anyone. He looks like he needs a break.
It begs the question; if Trump who golfs more often than most people drink a glass of water, regardless of the importance of the job he's supposed to be doing, cannot deal with stress; what on earth makes people think he's a better candidate for President?
Harris by comparison looked like she was in her element, even enjoying herself, on that stage.

Yeah, that's what people saw. Whether or not it matters remains to be seen, but there's no denying the difference in the two's performances.

Even if he does make it and decides to run again are Republicans masochistic enough to back a two-time loser?

Maybe.
He's not just a two time loser. Since the voters got to better know Trump, the GOP have performed poorly in congressional races as well as presidential ones. Trump has dragged the GOP so far off into the crazy far right weeds that they are losing a lot of their traditional support. It is going to be interesting to watch all the down ballot races in Nov. Even though the group of congressional races this year should favor the GOP, it is quite likely they will once again perform well below what should be their expectations. If that happens, and Trump loses yet again, Trump should be done. If the GOP doesn't at that point discard Trump and look to rebuild itself, it may well become a minor player in the future with some new closer to the 'centre right' party emerging from the ashes of what the GOP once was. I really feel that a sane, considered, professional centre right party could own a lot of power once it got established.
