Just a quick FYI: the vaccines work just fine. Not 100%, but just fine.
Here is why the CDC is recommending masks for the vaccinated (and I don't agree with it by the way): since the vaccines are only 95% effective in preventing symptomatic infections that leave 5% who will get a mild infection even if fully vaccinated (everyone with a brain knows that the vaccines nearly eliminate serious disease). Because the delta variant viral load is about a thousand times greater that of other variants its much easier for even the vaccinated to transmit it. If a vaccinated person transmits it to another vaccinated person (very unlikely) its really no big deal. But if a vaccinated person transmits it to a covidiot they can get quite sick. I disagree with the CDC recommendations because I don't care about unvaccinated people unless they are under 12 years old or immunocompromised. Kids are relatively protected because of their age, but responsible people will mask up when they are around them anyway.
As for the fools who are neither under 12 years old or not immune compromised, delta will find them. I won't be lifting a finger to protect them (which is what the CDC is doing). I will only mask up if its required by local mandate.

Update (1015ET): The New York Times has confirmed (with its sources) that the CDC is expected to recommend on Tuesday that people vaccinated for the coronavirus resume wearing masks indoors under certain circumstances, reversing a decision made just two months ago.

As recently as last week, an agency spokesman said that the C.D.C. had no plans to change its guidance, unless there were a significant change in the science. The CDC plans to provide a media update on the pandemic at 3pmET.

The risk is so low that its neglible for me, and I am one of them.

Just to clarify if I was unclear, I wasn't disputing your numbers, just putting them in context that those numbers would mean the risk of vaccinated people are still 3x as likely to spread covid as a person is likely to die from covid, yet we all took covid seriously.

Yes, covid spread by people who won't wear masks will find immunocompromised people and kill them.
