Trump should just not run in 2020. You have about 55% of citizens believing the sitting president should be investigated for illegal or immoral acts. That's not very promising.

It's time for the, "I will not be seeking reelection speech."

The fact that 34% of Republicans want to know more should be very worrying.

Trump shot himself in the foot with Guiliani's gun.

Remember kids, Trump doesn't have a chance.
The polls and graphs don't lie.

He's only got a 2% chance to beat Hillary, and we're being generous... give me a ****ing break.

My prediction is that democrats manage to ruin whole impeachment process. Focus is way too narrow, like it's not possible to find out any other alarming activity. Also republicans will defend Trump as they don't have any other popular candidate for 2020. What's happening is that democrats are digging own graves while Trump is going to play martyr role and when democrats fail, Trump is glorified hero. That means even deeper polarisation and huge trouble to all democratic candidates. Trump can win easily next term that way.

I think Trump is disgusting, dumb and highly incompetent - but those things don't matter when it comes to Trump's base. Trump is useful tool for so many out there. I think those tariffs are hurting poor-lower middle-class people and rest of folks don't care because they have enough money for everything - somehow base is like "way to go Trump, show how to deal with China" and I think it's maddening process.

But he didn't beat hillary. Polls correctly predicted who would get the most votes. But, no one foresaw that a fluke of the electoral college gave the presidency to Trump.

When the polls were taken , they just assumed "winning the presidency" was equal to "winning the majority".

I disagree on just about every aspect of your premise, because they could pile it on, and that would just be more fodder for the right to fog the thing, and leave people dazed and confused.

Take the strongest thing, and go with that. Give them something they can understand. Much of the Mueller report is complicated, and they are just not wanting to think about it.

We could add this and that, if it bolsters the outcome, the pace of which let Pelosi decide. She's pretty smart, and a formidable opponent for Trump

Here's the deal, my view is that the Senate's vote is going to follow public sentiment. by the end of this thing, dems are calculating that the vast majority will want him removed from office, and that will give those senators who do not like Trump ( privately, though they don't express is publicly ) just might vote to convict, because, after all, he's destroying the party and Pence represents replacing a tornado with a breeze.

I predict that Pence will be the nominee.

When the polls were taken , they just assumed "winning the presidency" was equal to "winning the majority".

There are only a handful of people out there that stupid to believe this. If this were true then why were all the media trolls screaming about how could the polls get this so wrong for over a year.

Just an FYI, we have been using the electoral college since the beginning of time. If you are too stupid to know how the EC works, what businesses do you have running a poll?

The polls predicted Hillary would win the election by huge margins and there was no way Trump was going to pick up the blue wall, Florida, North Carolina, and several other states. Now they are just making excuses for how far off their polls were.

Strange... I don't see Hillary's face when I look up who the current president is.

Funny enough Rasmussen actually got it right in those respects.

Theres a bait and switch going on here. The question asks if they approve of the allegations being investigated. It does not ask if people believe the allegations or if they approve of impeaching the president. The left is playing an Orwellian word game. They are trying to sell the idea that an impeachment inquiry is the same thing as an impeachment.

So it's the same tactic as always..?

Yay, I guess.

I think anyone with a functional brain sees this just as the thread is titled: more and more people want an inquiry. No one is trying to obfuscate. No one is claiming what you are saying here.

It seems the number of functional brains on the right is a lot smaller these days.

It only takes 6% of all, republicans & non affiliated to make a majority.

Actually it takes only a bunch of states representing only 10% of the American population to tie up the Senate into inaction... even less to thwart any impeachment.

That is what some call a government of the people and by the people and for the people.

When the polls were taken , they just assumed "winning the presidency" was equal to "winning the majority".

They just assumed is exactly What Happened. Now folks are assuming that a phone call transcript coupled with a hearsay account of it and loads of media cheerleading will finally spell doom for Trump. Of course, similar predictions of sure doom were made of the Mueller report, but this time it's going to be the real deal due to Schiff's excellent parody of what Trump really meant to say.

Proof is in the pudding; if Trump was doing this phone call to get to the bottom of corruption, and not to earn some political dirt and aid on his re-election, why did he pick crowdstrike and Biden? Why didn't he pick any of the plethora of examples of Ukranian corruption?

Because he's an inept, stupid, obese moron who took the rope Pelosi kept feeding him, and hung himself with it.

He had no intention of solving "Corruption" in Ukraine and had -every- intention of using the revelations, no matter how benign, to slander and smear Joe Biden.

What Trump really meant to say is that he wanted help smearing Biden. Otherwise, he'd have used other examples of Ukranian corruption if he really cared about investigating corruption.

The man is UNFIT to serve.

We have been having inquiries since Trump took office and they stepped up a bit when the demorats gained a House majority. The use of "more people" (overall) is fine but US House elections are by district and US Senate elections are by state meaning that those loads of people in CA, NY and other big blue states do not have a vote in those other district's/state's elections.

frankly, I don't GAF.

That is true - it takes 36 US Senators (from as few as 18 states) to prevent removal from office as the result of an impeachment "trial".

Wouldn't that number be 34 since it takes 67 to convict? I am not trying to pick at a nit here but just want to get our numbers right.

Schiff should be censured. This isn't SNL. This isn't a game. For him to sit on that dais and enter lies into the official record is grounds for censure, or worse.

I think the Democrats are so brazen, because the MSM has been aiding and abetting false narrative after false narrative, and frankly, Republicans aren't raising hell like they should.

Yep, it's time for another cup of coffee. I was off by one tiny "red" state. ;)

Schiff has been a shining star for the nation since day one of the Russian scandal and continues to show excellence.
