A woman in Oklahoma can't get an abortion of a cancerous molar pregnancy, which can't ever develop into a viable fetus, because of problems with hospital policy:

Read the article - un-f---ing-believable.
So heartbreaking.

We're allowing state legislators to dictate medical procedures. What could go wrong with that? /s

Oklahoma has three overlapping abortion bans, with different and sometimes contradictory definitions and exceptions. A study published Tuesday along with a commentary in the Lancet medical journal shows hospitals all over Oklahoma are struggling to interpret the laws and create policies that comply with the state's abortion bans. The resulting confusion is having dangerous consequences for women like Statton.

"Simulated patients" is not a proper way to determine how the hospitals would actually deal with an abortion-worthy pregnancy.

the Center for Reproductive Rights...

To conduct the research, several young women called 34 hospitals in the state with a script, saying they were pregnant for the first time, trying to decide which Oklahoma hospital to go to for care, and wanting to understand the hospital's policies and processes for providing abortions if pregnancy complications arose.

This undermines, rather than supports, the terrible story of Jackie Statton's cancerous pregnancy.

OK. From what I understand, this mass will never become a viable fetus, so WHY is this not being treated as removal of a cancerous growth?

How many women will die because of republicans sticking their noses where they don't belong? They are going to force women to break the law to get medical care.

OKLAHOMA women; VOTE YOUR GOVERNOR OUT OF OFFICE!!! Vote all of them out, it's the only way.

****ing unreal. I think a lot of anti choicers just give lip service to being ok w/ abortions for the woman's health/life.

I'm not sure why so many pro-life people agree that it's acceptable to kill the unborn to save the life of the mother. As the article even said, there can be times when the mother can be kept "alive" to act as "an incubator."

Pro-life people...why should the mother's 'life' take precedence over the unborn's? I mean, the unborn will be starting a whole new life, while the woman has already lived much of hers. The unborn is an 'innocent' life according to them...and the woman is obviously, like us all a sinner. Anyone want to tell me why?

At minimum, most pro-life supporters claim that the unborn are exactly the same, in value, as born people. So...why prioritize the life of the mother?

Your mistake is taking their claims at face value. They aren't pro-life. They're pro-death.

Cruelty is the point.
Elected R's are killing women to make a political point.
The only point they can possibly be making is that they have the power to destroy women's lives if the women don't live by the legislators religious dogma. When one conservative denomination tries to impose their religious beliefs about women's responsibility on all women it becomes 1st Amendment issue.

Ho hum.
Go to another hospital and stop whining.
Or go out of state
Yet another opportunity for someone to whine loudly, and a bunch of morons who know no details to join in the whining.
The Internet is now only a vehicle for incessant public grouo whining.

Why should she be forced into extra expense and time from work for a procedure that the local hospital can perform if they let them?

Welcome to a world where republi-terrorists force their religious bullshit on the population. These people are terrorists and do not deserve to call themselves Americans.

They wouldn't even allow her to set foot inside the hospital, as if her presence inside would be contagious, or maybe....just too depressing for them to look at.

Give me a frickin' break. Anti choicers are all "We are fine w/ abortion for the woman's life/health", but when an example is give, they never agree w/ it.

So says a man who, were he raped by another man, would hold a grudge through 10 reincarnations.

Incessant public whining.
It’s pathetic.

It’s just another moron looking for their 15 minutes of fame.
They need to STFU and solve the problem on their own instead of crying on the Internet.
Wish rape on somebody else you sicko.
