Neither. Terrorism is a method of attacking people, not an ideal. There's no way to stop someone determined to strap a bomb to themselves and kill innocent people.

if so the answer would be an obvious no, but if you mean to try to reduce it by a significant amount,yes that may be possible. But the method to reduce terrorism should not be war(literal meaning), because this usually incites more terrorism.

terrorism will never end. we might be able to stop the large terrorist groups such as al queda but you will never be able to stop the single terrorists

Terrorism will only end when the would be terrorists are happy. Serioously. Happy people don't kill. Now, the question is...what will make them happy?

The "war on terror" as in fighting against AQ will eventually come to and end and we will win (with more cooperation with allied nations).
The problem though is that we will never be able to win against terrorism. Just as the "war on poverty" could not be won.

But it will require a combination of efforts and methods that I am afraid no one is currently combining to do so.

All because American's have collectively lost their balls and believe everything these war-mongering politicians have to say. Like Iraq was a threat. IF it's possible to wipe out the source of course it would work. However the proposition in of itself is impossible.

terrorists are being born every day. you don't know who the terrorists are and who isn't. it would be impossible to kill every terrorist. and if you try to do that, other terrorist will get upset and perform another 9/11.

you think the terrorists over in the middle east were told by Allah to destroy america just out of the blue? no. the middle easteners have been angry with the US for years. we have supported their dictators, tried to impose our culture on them, killed their people-what do you expect Allah is going to tell them?

Sure, we can win the War on Terrorism, all we need to do is get rid of our democracy. Simple as that. If we give Bushie absolute dictatorial powers to the point where he doesn’t have to listen to the populace, than no amount of terror amongst the populace would influence his policies because he wouldn’t have to pretend to give a **** about what the common man thinks; hence, terrorism as a tactic achieves nothing.

How about global annihilation? We can start lobbing nukes left and right until everyone who doesn’t think exactly like we do is dead. With 95% of the planet a charred, radioactive husk, you could bet your iridescently glowing genitalia there wouldn’t be anyone concerned with inspiring terror to sway the policies of (nominally) representative governments.

Of course, both of those are much more likely than the unspeakable alternative of finding out what we’re doing that makes them so pissed off at us and stop doing that.

But, until #1 happens and leads us to #2, we’ll just have to keep at it, follow the president, and stay the course; eventually, we’ll beat those Eurasian…er, Eastasian…er, I mean, Terrorist bastards.
