Was he a "terrorist" before or after his tenure as POTUS? If before I'd like to see your examples. Trump was popular because, and only because, of his policies. They resonated with his supporters. Someday Democrats will figure this out. Even if all his family members died off (which is a morbid wish) there are at least 74+ million that voted for him because of his policies, so I'm sure there are at least a few among them that would carry the torch.

What policies? Most of his "policies" were just standard run of the mil GOP tax cuts and appointing as many right wing judges to the courts. Any idiot Republican president would have given you that. Most of his so called "populist" policies were done by executive order that were reversed by Biden in about a week. The rest of it? Nothing got done. Not infrastructure, not healthcare, not ending "forever wars", the "wall" is a joke, nothing. He was very good at drone striking civilians though...something you people complained about when Obama was doing it, but said jack shit about it when Trump surpassed him in that regard.

and yeah 74 million supposedly voted for him...and 81.2 million of us beat you. How about them apples, eh?

Idk, it looks like you're serving up sour grapes instead of apples.

What apples are they to serve? Do you believe that when Trump actually said "quoting here" Covid is a hoax" it was true..
That banning people from China but not Europe was a good idea?

I believe Republicans can be saved.
If the Republican's can get away from this totalism BS, and go back to what made the Republican party what it is "CONSERVATISM ".,
The last true conservative was Eisenhower since then, power plays and the old trickle down theory and fund raisers and money makers for the "uh" private sector to trickle down theory. Trouble is the uh? trickle down theory lost momentum if it ever had any,, anyway the trickle down theory became a drip a drop a stop

It's always best to check fact checkers before making a claim.

Define conservatism for the class.

What policies are Republicans running on in 2022 and 2024?
If you look at history, the party out of power has very little to do with the midterm results. People focus on the party in power, the president, the congress. It's the party in power that controls the agenda. It's also the party in power that gets most of the media attention. Very rarely does the party out of power when dealing with midterms come up with something substantial, like the contract with America as Gingrich did for the 1994 midterms. Usually the party out of power just rants and raves. Sometimes the midterms are decided by how folks view the president, 2018 is the prime example of that. The majority of Americans disliked Trump, so they voted for democratic congressmen, the GOP lost 44 seats. 2010 was a bit different, people, especially independent were angry at the Democrats in congress, they caused the democrats to lose 63 seats. 2006, people were just tired of G.W. Bush and Republican rule, the GOP lost 33 seats. and so on.

When people are happy, satisfied with with the party controlling congress, they reelect them. 1998, 2002, 2014 are good examples of that. The bottom line is 2022 will be decided by what the Democrats who are in control, the party in power do or don't do. Whether they make the people satisfied with them or angry at them. Especially independents which will decide which party controls the house. Not the party base.

The Republicans don't control the agenda, they don't rule, they're not in control. They're basically just an afterthought which can do nothing but rant and rave and try to make as big waves as they can. It's the democrats that have to convince people they are justified to remain in control. The Republican can just howl at the moon and holler like a stuck pig. They don't have to convince anyone of anything. They're an afterthought to those in charge.

The Republicans have a lot of fund raisers though. .There's the promises made but not kept..

Saved in what sense? Politically? They are doing just fine. They hold 50 Senate seats, they are a few seats shy of a majority in the House, and they hold a majority of state legislatures. Trump lost to Biden, but it wasn't a blowout. "Run someone marginally less obnoxious than Donald Trump" seems like a perfectly viable political strategy for them.

As long as democrats keep putting up Biden republicans will be okay.

The Republican Party cannot be saved until the reactionary wing ceases being the loudest voice. When conservatives like Sasse and Kinzinger are called out as RINOS, it speaks volumes.
