There is one area, however, where the president’s unilateral ability to forgo punishment is uncontested and supported by over a hundred years of Supreme Court precedent: the pardon power. It has been consistently interpreted to include the power to grant broad amnesties from prosecution to large groups when the president deems it in the public interest.
Such pardons have been used by presidents including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson. Most recently, Jimmy Carter issued a pardon to around half a million men who had violated draft laws to avoid military service in Vietnam.

Pardons do not cover future violations.http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/06/opinion/can-obama-pardon-millions-of-immigrants.html?_r=0

Are you asking if Obama can pardon non citizens of breaking the law?
Did you read thru the article?Pardons are not in perpetuity, as in covering any future violations.
He pardons them and they are still here the following second still breaking the law.
The question is clear- Illegal Aliens- refugees- pick your fav term

I don't know if Obama can pardon people that do not have rights of citizens here. Has a president ever pardoned a non American citizen? What is the law in regards to this. Perhaps since you brought the subject and poll up you could answer that for us.
Refugees, and illegal aliens are not the same thing.
It has it all there.
Nope I do not have any answers- Read the article, thought it had an interesting take.

No, it does not. For example Obama could say that those entering the US before 2060 are pardoned but that would not fly because you cannot pardon before the act has occurred. Another problem, even by picking a date in the past, is that still leaves these folks in limbo as far as becoming citizens. They are still "undocumented" as far as immigration status and citizens only of wherever they came from.
No it actually doesn't.
The President has unquestionable pardon powers for crime that have been committed.
But he can not pardon a person for a crime that they commit in the future.
He would have to pardon them and at the same time grant amnesty or citizenship, which he isn't going to do.
And if he went ahead and did this, it just shows he doesn't care one bit about this country or it's laws.
What did you not understand about "and at the same time" as a statement of what he would have to do in addition, which was then followed through with "which he isn't going to do"?He has the power to grant Citizenship????

It really doesn't. It forgets the fact that even if he pardons them for a current crime, they commit another crime right afterwards by being in this country.
Not necessarily. If you're thinking of people who decide to enter the country illegally then the only crime they committed was illegal entry. That can be pardoned and they are not committing any additional crime just by being here. It's a different story for those who entered the country legally but overstay their visa. That is a continuous act.
What about when they work here illegially? Or drive on the roads illegally? Or the million other things you need to do as a human that lives in a nation that is illegal for them to do?
I realize he cannot pardon in advance.
If he did pardon them, would it open them up to legally applying for Citizenship?
What did you not understand about "and at the same time" as a statement of what he would have to do in addition, which was then followed through with "which he isn't going to do"?
I did understand, hence the question- Can the President grant Citizenship?
