California Dominates Post-Covid Recovery

Of course you can make property expensive in Alaska. Just like everywhere else on the planet, if you want to increase the cost of property - get the government involved. Every socialist should know that.

Anchorage has more government than I have, and they are paying three times more for the same size home on one quarter the amount of land.
You can put a $1 million price tag on an undesirable house in an undesirable area, but it ain’t gonna sell.

I just really, really like the idea of filling Texas up with Californians.

And even while they're doing that, they're still leading in recovered jobs.
Hopefully the trend will accelerate until the midterms...

The bigger cities in a state are more expensive? And water is wet!

You just know they’re going to pass a law stating that only Texans with a minimum four year residency will be allowed to vote.

Which is why I bought my home 50 miles north of Anchorage, where it was three times less with four times more land, and one quarter the government.

Anchorage was undesirably expensive in an undesirable area, which is why I did not buy a home in Anchorage.

Do you understand that you can't put any price tag you want on a home and expect it to sell?

I can't believe I'm having this discussion.

Water can also be both solid and gaseous. It still doesn't change the fact that adding more government always increases property values. That is also demonstrated in certain areas of Alaska where there is no local government at all. Which means there are no property taxes. As soon as you introduce government you immediately begin to deprive citizens by driving up the price of their property.

You obviously mean the capitalist market, since there isn't one under socialism.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs"

Isn't that the socialist motto?
Acts: 32-35

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

You get why you were able to buy at a much cheaper price right? It has nothing to do with Government.

No government? How do you prove the property is yours? Without government your land is only yours as long as you can keep it. Dollars to donuts you deduct property expenses from your government taxes...

Now get ready for people to scream that if that's so great, why are people moving to Texas? Leaving aside that people have been moving from CA to OR and WA forever.
Need to be more strategic and have them keep flooding TX and then have more of them move to Florida, GA and NC. Or hell, just have a handful move to Wyoming and easily land 2 more senators.

It's been working in AZ as well....

So, to answer the question asked by so many Republicans: YES, we would absolutely love to turn the rest of the country into California. :)
No thanks. I like being able to afford to live in a decent house.
