Bush Poll Numbers

When you said "People that live in glass houses should not throw stones............", the only person who threw the stone in this case was me. I have not seen any democrats on the hill commenting on this. But, yes, I knew you weren't implying I was a criminal.

They ahve started a new slogan. It's called "A New Direction for America." It's described in here. I want Nancy Pelosi out. Ewwwwwwww.

When the evidence mounts against them and they can no longer say they are innocent. That only applies to Mollahan and Jefferson.

Come on aps they found 93,000 dollars hidden in Jefferson's freezer..How much evidence do you need?

Trust me, you're preaching to the choir on him. I am embarrassed for him because he is making such a fool out of himself. I cannot fathom what must be going through his mind.

How about. "Man I'm about to make a quick 100 grand"

Dont see the big newsworthy thing here. Rassmussen report has consistantly reported his approval rating 4 to 7% higher than the average of all the others it seems. Add to that, that September 11 was a day many americans were most likely watching TV and remembering what happened 5 years ago, and Bush as usual used this politically to boost support for his policies, its only natural that his numbers over the next few days would get a boost. Now if he has the same approval rating in a month then we can start to talk a "trend", but frankly I question the methods of the Rassmussen report to get these numbers as there is such a large difference between the average (and the others) and this poll.

Even FOXNews polling has Bush popularity rating at only 40% so what does that tell you?

I stopped trying to make sense of polls after the last election. If the Republicans keep control of both houses this Fall, I'm just going to start ignoring polls altogether. Anyway, I never cease to be amazed that when a single week passes after some scandal or Bush acts like a dick or a retard, the polls immediately start to climb again. That boy has the most powerful marketing machine behind him I've ever seen.

Remember that he has done nothing special now, and is the same president as when his polls were at 30%. The slow rise in approval ratings seems to be the default.

I'm beginning to think that the only way he could stop the steady climbing of his approval ratings (sans him acting like a dick) for more than two weeks is if he were to eat a blond haired, blue eyed baby on live television.

Irie is a liberal, that means he has an open mind - way, way open.
If he's so open minded, then why does he think that the media is protecting Bush by giving tons of coverage to his lowest #s and ignoring his higher #s?

Probably because the poll numbers are being counted on Deibold machines.

You sound like a broken record my friend........You lost in 2000, 2002 and 2004 and you will lose in 2006 and 2008....Get over it.........You can not blame Deibold for all your failures......

NP, care to make a friendly wager on the House of Rep's for 2006?

If the GOP retain's the House of Reps I'll change my avatar to one of you're choosing, and vice versa if the Dem's gain control of the House of Reps.

I notice your not mentioning the Senate my friend.........Shouldn't we include it also?

Here you go:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Bush_Job_Approval.htm

President Bush Job Approval
September 14, 2006

Forty-seven percent (47%) of American adults approve of the way that President Bush is performing his job. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove. Those are by far the best numbers for the President since mid-February.

here is another list with many polls, other than just the one.

depending on what poll you look at, his approval rating over the last few weeks seems to range from 37% to 42%

http://www.pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm

And, to the suggestion of main stream media bias concerning this issue, at a minimum one would have to show that when Bush's ratings took a nose dive they jumped on it immediately and not a few days into it.

And this alone really doesn't show bias, unless it can be shown that past democrat presidents did not get the same treatment when sharp declines in their job approval took place whilst coverage of a gradual increase in their approval ratings was delayed.

Thanks for the link.

The entirety of my post was not necessarily directed toward you, but to the subject of the thread.

Bush's decrease was gradual, and approval ratings are usually reported fairly often, regardless if they're up, down, or holding steady. I have to admit, when his approval ratings were high, the MSM gave it sufficient coverage.

I wouldn't take that bet on the Senate - Dem's need to run the tables to win it.

So what do you say?

You're the one that keeps saying Dems will lose in Nov!
I say no, Dems will take the house, and come close in the Senate. It may come down to Senator Macaca....

The Bungles.... Yoi and Double Yoi! ;)

As strange and, and maybe, transitory as bush's numbers are I'm far more interested in the repub v. dem numbers 38% v. 38%. This just 2 months before the congressional elections!
