RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond police say the bullet that hit a window of Republican Virginia Congressman Eric Cantor's office had been randomly fired skyward.
Amid reports of threats and vandalism against Democrats who voted Sunday for sweeping health care reforms, Cantor said at a Washington news conference Thursday that a bullet was fired into his Richmond office.
In a news release, Richmond police said that the bullet had been fired into the air early Tuesday. It hit the front window of a building that houses Cantor's campaign office as it fell to back earth at a sharp angle.
The round landed on the floor of the office a foot inside a broken window pane. No one was in the building, and police say an investigation has yielded no suspects.
I'm taking bets that the idiot who did this shot at the wrong office … any takers?
Not unless you want to count for technicality. If so then I guess he was right.Does that mean Chappy was right? If so, I apologize for my response.
Amazing that a skyward fired bullet that returned at a sharp angle was able to hit the vertical window of a political HQ building at this precise moment in history. What are the odds?I shot an arrow into the air
It fell to earth, I know not where
But something is sure to hit the fan
'Cause GOP claims attack on Republican
:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:
Seriously, though, with all the crap that has been happening in the last few days, I don't blame Cantor for thinking a Democrat did this on purpose. But he should have waited for the police report to come out before sticking his foot in his mouth. LOL.
Article is here.

In other words this was pretty much the same situation that happened to Lou Dobbs a few months back.
No. Chappy suggested it was someone trying to shoot a Democrat office and actaully just hit a republicans. This looks like someone was shooting mindlessly in the air and it hit it. At least on the initial report.
Did Cantor actually blame this on "Democrats" or did he simply say that there are others besides just democrats that recieve percieved threats or attacks?

Pretty much my thoughts. A staggering coincidence, if it is one. But it has to be, right? I mean, doing that on purpose (firing in a parabolic arc and hitting your target window) is kinda like kicking your toolkit at your car and fixing the brakes.

It's not just the arc and angle... it's the timing. That big of a coincidence is usually not a coincidence.
Why was only Cantor's office the only Republican supposedly "attacked". ??
Shooting into the air is not mindless. Perhaps he felt forsaken and was pissed at the man upstairs?
Also, the congressman should into new gun regs for his district...
Does that mean Chappy was right? If so, I apologize for my response.
In that area, by gun fire. Yes. If you have different info please post it.
No what I meant was that I understand that Cantor's office was the only Republican 's office noted as having been attacked. I know that some Republicans also have recieved vicious phone calls but no violence reported other than CANTOR'S.
Even the phone calls were disgusting. I mean did you hear some so called pro lifers said they hoped sTUPAK WOULD GET CANCER. another Dem Congr man a woman caller threathened to "cutt off his bleeps".
And not just tea party people either. The worst in people was exposed or incited by the Tea Partiers.
How aout that buffoon Tea Party schmuck who posted the brother of VA congressman's address his personal Tea P face book thinking it was the Congressman's and someone cut the gas lines to his brother' ( congressman's ) house.
Instead of the ceam rizing to the top the Tea Party movement has incited the crap to rize to the top. Maybe that is because the Tea Party movement is crap or it is formed by crap people.
What happened to Lou Dobbs. Either I didn't hear about it, or I can't remember it, which is a more likely possibility, given my age. LOL.

This is the key part of the story....
The Associated Press: Bullet that hit Va. congressman's office random
BTW. remember that coffin that was left on a Dem. congress mans lawn?
Didn't happen.
It hit the front window of a building that houses Cantor's campaign office as it fell to back earth at a sharp angle.

Cantor's office is in a small building several blocks from Capitol Square. It has several small offices in it. There are no Cantor signs on the doors or windows. Various Republican candidates have occupied the offices in the historic Reagan Building through the years, including former governor Jim Gilmore.
Oh I see what you meant... as far as I know yes, that was the only (R) office attacked like that.
Well, to be fair, they probably lifted that directly from Sean Penn. Did you hear the phone calls to Jean Schmidt?

And not just tea party people either.
A few nut jobs do not define an an entire organization. You don't see people claiming Sean Penn and what he says, or Spike Lee, or even Michael Moore, as reflective of the entire Democratic party, so not sure why you would use a fringe member and make them reflective off tens of thousands of tea party members, unless you just wanted to slander the entire group.
You don't mind then that I can pick out one moonbat from the Democratic / Progressives and then apply them to tens of millions of other Democrats then, right?
