"The prisoners, seven in all, were captured Syrian soldiers. Five were trussed, their backs marked with red welts. They kept their faces pressed to the dirt as the rebels’ commander recited a bitter revolutionary verse.
“For fifty years, they are companions to corruption,” he said. “We swear to the Lord of the Throne, that this is our oath: We will take revenge.”
The moment the poem ended, the commander, known as “the Uncle,” fired a bullet into the back of the first prisoner’s head. His gunmen followed suit, promptly killing all the men at their feet.
This scene, documented in a video smuggled out of Syria a few days ago by a former rebel who grew disgusted by the killings, offers a dark insight into how many rebels have adopted some of the same brutal and ruthless tactics as the regime they are trying to overthrow."
There are no good actors there. If our goal was to save the people of Syria it would require boots on the ground and a take down of both sides in this bloody war. But protecting the civilian population simply opens our soldiers to endless attacks by militants posing as civilians. Americans are done playing that game.
Watch this thread fall flat on its face! This isn't what people want to hear here! They want Assad to be the evil one so that we can engage in another war of aggression against a country that HAS NOT ATTACKED US! Putin and Assad have been yelling that Assad is fighting a war on terrorists against Islamic extremist jihadists that pull people's hearts out and eat them, tie civilians up and shoot them execution style, chop people's heads off, park truck bombs near civilians, kidnap journalist, use snipers on UN officials, sack and burn Christian church's, but none of this matters because there are people on this board and elsewhere that are panting for war, drooling for war, rubbing their hands together at the prospect for war, holding their breaths as the senate/congress votes.
There's another thread up showing a new study that would make it more likely that the chem attack was the Syrian government. That's where every bodies going to be!
Well, Assad IS an evil human being. What is missing in the equation is a viable alternative to Assad. His opposition is not better than he is.

Watching Kerry yesterday assure everyone that the rebel forces are only 20% "bad guys" is so appallingly myopic on his part that my jaw hit the floor. Does he not understand the implications of the supposed "good guys" who allow these "bad guys" into their army? The barbaric brutality that they allow to be visited on the Syrian population should be all the proof you need that the Syrian rebels don't actually much care about a peaceful, free Syria.

My point being that he is the lesser of two evils, he's not our evil, just a few short years ago Pelosi, Kerry and Clinton were singing his praises. Did we see Kerry and his wife sitting down with an Islamic extremist jihadist that pulls your heart out and eats it, or chops your head off. No, he's eating dinner with Assad, "the reformer"!
I haven't seen any evidence of excessive brutality by Syrian gov't forces. This is typical al Queda stuff. We're on the wrong side. No doubt about it.

Is their a right side in this mess? I just don't think so myself.
There is a LESS bad side.
We will be assured that those are not the "main" rebels (freedom fighters?) but for "security reasons" we can not be told who the "good guys" that we wish to support actually are - lest they be sought out and killed by the evil Assad's forces.
National security is a wonderful thing which allows we the sheeple to be told by "our representatives" to simply shut up and just trust us. USA, USA, USA...
Who is less bad and why?
Got that Right Ttwtt.....General Keane has been making the rounds on the Radio Shows. Plus Hugh Hewitt is telling people to Call their Congressman and vote for a Strike.
Keane has been saying the Bad Rebels are up North. That The FSA are the good guys. Despite him knowing they are backed by the MB and Salafists. Despite them going after Christians and others.
And despite the UN's deliberate and clear classification of the FSA as an al Qaida affiliate!
Putin gave him a wedgie.Any word on Putin and Obama yet?
