British Ban On Small Firearms Is Pointless

Guns are being used to kill innocent people in staggering numbers. You may find that acceptable, but I never will.

Nonsense. You aren't concerned with who dies, or how they die unless it's done with a gun.

Evidenced by your acceptance of the "staggering numbers" of traffic fatalities.

Post 371 it's called reading. Seems pretty plain it's sarcasm. Or should I attach a bunch of little emojis to make it clearer or would it even matter?

A different indication, than an obvious spelling mistake, might prove better for you

The use of: /s
Is fairly popular.

Define "hate speech". It comes "speech I don't like". The line becomes arbitrary and government being able to set arbitrary limits is bad.

Wrong, the Communist Party is alive and well in the USA.
Its… alive… well would be a huge stretch lol

Probably on life support. But that wouldn't be because it is illegal to associate with Communists, or illegal to publish Communist literature.

The British ban on small firearms, which was put into place after the Dunblane Massacre in 1966, bans any firearm that has less than 12 inches of barrel length and less than 24 inches of overall length. Anyway, such a law is pointless because all somebody needs to make a large firearm into a small firearm is a hacksaw. So there you have it, it's pointless and silly.
I imagine that altering the length of the barrel is mentioned in the law somewhere. It is illegal in America to shorten the barrel of a shotgun to less than 18 inches.

Would 13,000 a year be a staggering number of deaths to you?

What is the acceptable number of deaths of innocent people to you?

I thought that too with regard to shotguns in the USA. But I'm told that you can indeed have shotguns with barrels less than 18", it just requires more paperwork (and fees).

I don't think that is correct.
"A shotgun is a firearm subject to the NFA if the shotgun has a barrel or barrels of less than 18 inches in length. A weapon made from a shotgun is also a firearm subject to the NFA if the weapon as modified has an overall length of less than 26 inches or a barrel or barrels of less than 18 inches in length."

Yes it may be subject to the NFA, but that doesn't mean that you can't have one:

"In the United States, it is illegal to posses a sawed off shotgun that has a barrel length of less than eighteen inches, unless the individual has obtained a taxed permit from the ATF. That permit requires a background check and payment of an excise tax for that weapon."

It was about taxation without representation but nice try 😂
So is that when the shot that was heard around the world happened? Lexington and Concord were the go dates when the Englanders got frisky and decided to do a little confiscating.

I am taxed but have no representation.

The US army did the same with the Viet Cong.

Gee, and of the two one was a pretty clear cut defeat for the militia.

You know what they say, when all is said and done, there's a lot more said than done.

And it's said that the Brits were kicked out of here, because the Americans were done ****ing around with their bullshit.

Wonder who packed up and left when all was said and done?

Gee, amazing how that was due to the colonists begging for the help of multiple professional militaries and forming their own. It’s almost like the militias wound up being a total liability.
