Not that I've discovered as yet.

Whole family is a liability. The youngest daughter just got busted for speeding in an SUV and is also quite a "troubled" teen for GOP standards. Even the son has had some troubles..

If they could just be themselves. We're all human, we all make mistakes. Willow was speeding, just like how many other kids her age. Just own it. No big.

I don't want a family with perfect little children, in a perfect little house, with perfect little photo ops presented to me. It's a fallacy. I don't get the point of tracking and exaggerating every move the family of a political candidate makes. I am not responsible for what my sister in law does, but it would damn sure be drug through the mud if I ran for a public office. Sarah Palin shouldn't be president because of her lack of experience, because of her lack of foreign policy understanding, because she is more interested in the spotlight than she is in solutions. Her family and their actions have no influence on those perceptions. I don't care that Bristol had a child underage, out of wedlock. I don't care that the other daughter was caught speeding (I got my first ticket at 16...for speeding, as did many of my friends). I don't care if her smaller daughter farts in front of reporters, or whatever.

Then the Palins are your ideal American family.

As is yours, mine, and probably 80% of American families. There are skeletons and mistakes in everybody's familial closet. The idea that somebody's child will never do something bad is ridiculous. The idea that somebody's extended family will be a pinnacle of morality and good works is also ridiculous. People and their families screw up. I don't care to hear about it unless they're murdering, raping, committing grand theft, or punching babies. Personal mistakes and errors in judgment don't need to be brought onto the political stage. It's a malicious way to run a campaign and I don't condone or respect it in the slightest.

Even calling behaviors "bad" is ridiculous. Willow effed up, as did Bristol. Every step they take (just like the rest of us) will determine what new paths open to us.

But to call someone's offspring a "liability" was just so wrong. I mean - it hurt to read it. It was an incredibly shaming thing to say.

The problem with Bristol is that her mother is so adamantly no sex until marriage, if Sarah can't convince her own daughters of the validity of the neo-conservative stance, how can we think she can convince anyone else. Isn't the majority of being a politician being able to convince others to do what you want?

All a parent can do is the best they can. Short of tossing her into a convent, she did her part by Bristol.

If thats the case then clintons wouldnt be elected because of their superdog spawn.

Sarah Palin is the liability. Bristol Palin is merely the biproduct.

Uh huh, just like Cheney handled his gay daughter with perfect class. As usual you don't know anything.

I cannot begin to tell you how little I care about what Palin's children do or do not do. Why is there a thread on this?

And for my second time in as many days, I'd like to ask why people who don't give a **** feel the need to post to that effect.
