BREAKING: We've got Trump tax returns. Tonight, 9pm ET. MSNBC.

Yup, Client Copy means they didn't come from the IRS. They came from someone who got them somehow from the client himself. Or even from the client himself. Trump is sly like a fox. He knows these returns make him look good. He also knows his loyal supporters will have a collective aneurysm about someone "leaking" this.

What would have been interesting were his returns from the last 10 years. These returns are a whole lot of nothing, but I guess it made for interesting discussions.

Yup. Frankly, they were never much on my radar. It was just odd that others released and he did not.

But from 10 years ago? Seems cherry picked.;)

It's definitely not his tax return, because it shows he paid taxes.

That is an interesting point

If the tax return is genuine - which I have no way of knowing - it says trump paid $38 million in federal income taxes along

Thats not too shabby and certainly not what the lyning liberal media was hoping for

Gosh, it got awful quiet in here allofasudden.

Ahhh, so you think "client copy" is all part of the rouse.

Dude. why would it even matter that returns from over 10 years ago were released?

If I had any level in caring about the tax returns it would be for the past 5 years. 10 years ago seems odd.

That's what I mean. If someone leaked these to make Trump look bad, it not only didn't work, it actually made him look good.

The clowns at the IRS, that leaked the returns, said, "oh, let's take this client's copy stamp, that's right here on my desk and stamp, 'client's copy', to cover our tracks".

And look all the people that bought it...lol!

It was so amazingly bizarre watching this all play out in real time. There was so much excitement from O'Donnell and Maddow before the big reveal that you have to assume they they were both just Anchorman-ing it and reading whatever was put in front of them. By the time the show started Maddow looked completely rattled like she was handed the two pages just before airtime and realized how screwed she was.

The best part is that the tax return shows that Trump paid more taxes than average for his income bracket! This event couldn't have been more entertaining had they tried.

Also, Slate has the sads this morning, guys.

No, I'm saying, SOME people who think they know exactly what that stamp signifies, are full of it. ;) It signifies nothing.

There's no reason for you to get your panties in a bunch over something you disagree with. Your ignorance of history is pervasively embedded in your philosophies and political perspectives, and on view in virtually every one of your posts. Take a moment for reflection and try your best to articulate a rational argument that runs counter to the comment you responded to. And then maybe we can examine that argument on the merits.

Otherwise feel free to STFU.;)

ol the irony that is missed in this post.

depends on what it is for. the IRS can go backup 7 years in general and if they have to they can go back as far as 10.
so for someone like trump that has really complicated taxes he needs to keep them just in case they decide to go back and review
something.

Johnsto, Maddow, her staff are too stupid to actually decipher the information. The leaker is obviously just as stupid.

At some point, surely, someone should have noticed they were fixing to make President Trump look good. Until 10:00 last night, I wouldn't have thought that many people could be that ignorant. I doubt the Trump team foresaw all those people being that ignorant.

Well judging by the $100M loss taken, this was probably the first year he paid income taxes since his 1995 return that showed the yuge loss generating the net operating loss carryforward that offset his income for the rest of the decade.

Oh the substance that is missing in your post.

nope the substance was perfectly there. the fact you missed it is not my problem.
however your comment was just well not well thought out.

People protesting is fine.

People burning, threatening injuring, looting burning, and attempting to shout down other people that are trying to speak?
that is not fine and yes that is very much fascism. the left tends to do this quite a bit it seems to have only gotten worse over
the years.

the demand for so called safe spaces whatever the hell that is. please.

This is the leader of the Libbos, too! Take a good look...lol

Anybody could have put, "client's copy", on those docs. It doesn't mean anything.

You could be right. That would mean he has a fan in the IRS who leaked these, since they show absolutely nothing other than the fact that he paid far too much in taxes, as I think most Republicans, including myself, would argue. Anyone in the IRS looking to expose him for something nefarious wouldn't leak these 2 pages. They make no argument against Trump.

Re: BREAKING: We've got 45 tax returns. Tonight, 9pm ET. MSNBC.

"The biggest questions around Trump’s taxes—the sources of his income, the nature of his investments, and the deductions he’s claimed among them—are not answered on these two sheets of paper released on Tuesday night. If answers to them exist in Trump’s tax forms, they’re on the schedules, forms, and supplemental materials that accompanied them. And unless someone chooses to mail them to a journalist like Johnston, or Trump decides or is compelled to release them on his own, those questions will persist"

Opps...

The leaker might be as ignorant as the no telling how many people at MSNBC that thought they had the goods

I'm just a dumb ass truck driver and I know I would have said, "Ok, time out folks! Let's take a damn close look at these docs before we go live".

Maddow even went on record to claim that publishing President Trump's tax returns is her 1st Amendment right. That displays a special kind of stupid

I thought the law was he wouldn't have to pay taxes for 18 years.

Like the mistaken poster you are failing to defend, you need to brush up on your basic political terms:

fascism

an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.
synonyms: authoritarianism, totalitarianism, dictatorship, despotism, autocracy;

If you are unable to command an understanding of such a simple concept, then I despair of your ability to make any rational argument on this board.

It is rather humorous that they are saying now "anyone can buy a rubber stamp".:lamo

I would be really curious how they were "leaked".

There was a call to catch the criminal before the contents were revealed. Odd that those calls have seemed to stop.:lamo

But even if they were nefariously leaked....Trump LOVES WikiLeaks. Maybe he can love them releasing more relevant returns from the past 5 years?;)So he can love them even more.

But realistically, he is a shrewd businessman....there are few accounting gymnastics that would surprise me.;)
