BREAKING NEWS: Syria and Iran pledge to confront US and Israel

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met today in Tehran for a 2-day meeting aimed at re-strengthening ties between the 2 middle eastern countries

This is the Syrian leader's second trip since 2005 to Iran to meet with

Among the discussions, both leaders pledged to confront US and Israeli "plots" in the middle east.

Al-Assad said: "We should co-operate and work to make the public aware of the sinister aims of the United States and the Zionists."

The presidents criticized how the US and Israel have destabalized the region and also stated the dangers in a Lebanese and Iraqi civil war.

Al-Assad said: "Iran and Syria support the peoples of the region and the enemies will only reach their goals by creating pessimism and disunity amongst Muslims."

Ahmadinejad agreed:Ahmadinejad agreed that the region "should be careful about the enemies' efforts to create division and conflict amongst Muslims and make sure they do not reach their sinister goals

"Under the current conditions it is necessary that Islamic countries preserve their vigilance, unity and wisdom to prevent the establishment of new conspiracies."

Al-Assad is intended to meet Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei tomorrow.

Yeah, like if Islamic forces had overthrown the US government and occupied our country, and the Mexican President Felipe Calderón met with the Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, to discuss restrengthening ties between the two nations and stabilizing the region.
Yeah, I'll bet the hypothetical occupying Islamic forces wouldn't like that too much, either. Hypothetically speaking.

so I take it that's an "aye" vote for killing women for "honor", mutillating and then killing homosexuals, and establishing a viscious, worldwide totalitarian state.

There are many oppressing countries out there. Some in more dire need of worldwide attention. Since you seem to feel so strongly about this, are you ticked that your current administration is ignoring the horrors of Sudan?

Yeah so Syria = sunnis , and Iran = Shia. Thats both sides of Islam, plus the 9/11 boys came from Saudi Arabia. Not really making friends out there are we? Or is that irrelevant?

Yes and still the US has been up to its neck in it since the 50s. I wonder, why would they want to give themselves such trouble? Is it the clear blue skies? The beautiful sand dunes, the atmospheric music and the sense of the exotic? Perhaps its the love of those amazing creatures called Camels, the ships of the desert. No? then whatever could it be?

My administration? I didn't even vote for Bush.

You do realize it is possible to disagree with the Bush administration and not support the Mullahs, don't you? You probably haven't figured that out by the looks of it.

And yes, I wish more were being done about the horrors in Sudan. Thanks for asking.

There is a quote I heard which goes well with what you said. I think it goes: "It's me against my brother. Its my brother and I against our cousin. Its my brother, my cousin, and I against our neighbor. etc"

They might be different sides, but when a common 'enemy' is involved, they are all just Muslim. Just like if aliens came down and tried to take over the world, I think that EVERY person will be able to put aside their differences and try to defend our home.

I don't disagree with you. And yes, I wish my government would do more too. Fact is, it's embarrassing that this is happening to the world's ignorance.

The main point I was trying to make is to put forth other world problems to those who consistantly throw the Iraqi humanitarian card. It was never humanitarian mission, nor will it ever be.

I should have remembered that we must always be mindful of the Israelis in any of our discussions since their interests are our interests and we=Israel.
