I think people forget that Iran does have some missiles with very good targeting computers. Iranian engineers are actually quite skilled, but often underestimated. The difficulty is not their understanding of the technology, but getting their hands on adequate components.

Iran declares 'allegiance' to Russia & instead of ground sending troops to Israel, they send troops to Ukrainian & in exchange Russia provides them with weapons & air & missile support. If Iran can give Russia a boost in Ukraine to tip those scales, in the long run Russia could potentially provide more support.

I appreciate, on a personal note, that you identify Tehran's leadership as rational actors. They are pig-****ers, to be sure, but they are not irrational actors.
