where?
when?
who?
I would respond to this posting, but I would be banned from this site if I expressed anything relevant about the sanity of the poster, so I won't say anything.
The scary thing here is that the Republicans, in particular the teabaggers, learned that as long as they have enough votes to prevent something from passing, and if they have no moral qualms and the appearance of insanity required to make such a threat appear credibile, they can get whatever they want by threatening to destroy the country. They want school prayer? We better give it to them or else they might block an emergency response to the next big hurricane. They want to ban Islam? We better give it to them or else they might block the flu vaccines for the next potential epidemic. It's disgusting. We're all being held hostage by the stupidest, meanest, element of our society.
You are right on the money. Obama is now 0 for 2 in attempting to negotiate tax justice with the GOP. He will lose again in November. Three strikes.
The Republicans are simply proving the truism that in a fight - the one who is the absolute batcrap craziest is the odds on favorite to win. The GOP out negotiated Obama before the tea party nutjobs got there in january and they did it again here. This is a sad day for America.
Do you deny that their tactic was to threaten to destroy the country unless they got something they wanted? Or is it just that you like their goals, so you don't care about the tactics they used to achieve them?

I wonder if you called the members of the Boston Tea Party, teabaggers? Any idea what they were protesting and what the Tea Party Movement is all about? The foundation of this country was built on those so called "tea baggers" which far too many liberals don't understand.

All I know is that I wanted to see the debt ceiling raised and I wanted to see real and significant cuts in expenditures.
Jesus Chrysler, do we have to keep reminding you that "tea bagger" was a name the Tea Partiers adopted themselves? If you see a correlation between the Tea Party then and now, you are delusional.
The Founders were nothing if not good at compromise. The current crop of Tea Partiers think "compromise" should be added to the list of words you can't say on the radio.
That was quite a compromise in Boston with the destruction of the tea.

Go back to history class and read the Constitution. It's full of compromises. Counting slaves at 3/5? Compromise. It's amazing how much of the Constitution you know nothing about, then lecture the rest of us about it.
So there's this "no compromise in the Constitution" coming from the same person who told me that America didn't change after the Civil War. Until you pass U.S. History, don't even start.
Sorry, I have to post this again. What you are also missing is an understanding of Tea Party supporters. I met with Tea Party individuals at a demonstration. Two older folks there were carrying signs that read “NO GOV HEALTH CARE”, but to me they looked old enough to be on Medicare. They were on Medicare. They explained to me that they didn’t want the government taking it over and messing with it.The scary thing here is that the Republicans, in particular the teabaggers, learned that as long as they have enough votes to prevent something from passing, and if they have no moral qualms and the appearance of insanity required to make such a threat appear credibile, they can get whatever they want by threatening to destroy the country. Ok. So you support the cuts that happened, but you oppose the tactice they used to get them?

All that can be done at this point is holding off the inevitable financial and economic collapse of this country. No amount of cost cutting can save us now.
the teabaggers seem to want to force their views on the majority of Americans, who disagree with them
