Not near enough for this low life POS.
U.S. soldier Manning gets 35-year prison sentence
Time fits the crime. I won't get too worked up about this. He'll be in his late 50s when he's released. I hope it was worth the majority of his adult life.
Sounds like he will be eligible for parole in about 10 years. That is just not enough.

In federal military prison there is no parole. He will serve 35 years.
considering he is being credited with "time served", he will be eligible for parole in just over 6 years.

According to the military, Manning is required to serve one-third of the sentence before he becomes eligible for parole.
Could be, I guesstimated.
seems kind of high for what I know about the case, but whatev's. Obama will pardon him as a hero in January 2016
No he will not as Obama has led a massive war on whistleblowers. (Obama Wages War on Whistleblowers and Journalists - SPIEGEL ONLINE)
The architect of Obama's harshness in regards to whistleblowers has said “My background is in the Navy, and it is good to hang an admiral once in a while as an example to the others." (https://www.techdirt.com/articles/2...d-to-hang-admiral-once-while-as-example.shtml)
So, no unfortunately Manning will most likely not be pardoned.
don't know about that...seems that the only whistleblowers Obama has been harsh with are the one who blow the whistle on him.

Now that it is over, its probably time for a little healing. I see the guy as a pretty pathetic individual. I dont think he is evil incarnate and doubt he was engaging long term thinking. He was pretty messed up, found someone that exploited that, and looked to please Assange trying to fit in. Doesnt excuse his actions nor does it mitigate his crime or punishment. Probably some things we can learn from the whole experience. Im sure he will have at least a few years to think through things.
I agree that he is not an evil guy, but he was selfish. From what I have read, he did not do this to be a whistleblower, but he did it for himself, because he had issues with his superiors, and wanted to get back at them. A lot of what he released was good in that the public now knows about the crap our government does in our names, and behind our backs, but Manning, considering the circumstances surrounding this, certainly deserves the time.
