Shooter entered Texas megachurch with young son and used AR-style rifle in the attack, police say

Court documents say the shooter who opened fire at Houston megachurch used an AR-style rifle before they were killed by security officers.

HOUSTON (AP) — The young boy who was critically injured in a shooting at a Texas megachurch on Sunday was the son of the shooter, authorities said Monday.

Police identified the shooter as 36-year-old Genesse Ivonne Moreno, and said Moreno had a history of mental illness, including being placed under emergency detention in 2016. Investigators had not yet established the shooter’s motive.

Moreno used an AR-style rifle before being killed by off-duty officers working security at celebrity pastor Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church.

On MSNBC juat now: she had anti-semitic writings. Her AR-style rifle had PALESTINE written on it. Her son has a bullet hole in his head.

She was likely using the child as cover (an excuse?) for bringing the large bag (containing the rifle) into the church.
 
OMG...how was this person ever allowed custody of that child?
 
Probably was hoping his boy would have died with him.

Further supporting the notion that mentally ill 'trans' people...and probably cross dressers...shouldnt be allowed anywhere near guns or children.

Yeah, pretty concerning. Who knows how deep this goes. I say we better keep an eye on those devious tomboys and femboys as well. Maybe add women who wear jeans and men with ear rings too.

Hmm. I see. The way the AP report reads, it sounds like she must have shot her son herself.

Perhaps she knew she wasn't getting out alive, and hoped he would not have to live with the aftermath ??

As soon as we start having evidence they are going on murder sprees, Id say you are right. For now...we should stick what is happening with fairly regular frequency.

It’s hard to rationalize what was clearly her criminal and irrational behavior.

I don't need a license to get a dog. Some localities do have such a regulation. Is that a proposal you're making? The city or county should require a license in order to have sexual relations that could result in a child?

Is there actual evidence that they commit crimes with guns and/or around children (or crime at all) more than the average person?

If there is, then maybe you have a point. If not, then nobody should have a gun or be around children because we all share at least some characteristics with at least one attempted mass shooter.

Are you TRYING to destroy the argument in support of background checks? Because...I mean....you are doing an EXCELLENT job of it...if you are trying. Otherwise...thats a hell of a coincidence.

Are we? show me some evidence. There are multiple millions of people who identify as trans in the United States. Obviously some of them are going to commit violent crimes, as would any subsection that large of the country's population. If there is evidence that they are doing so at a greater rate than others, then that may be interesting. If not, then it isn't.
