I wouldn't be paying much attention to late-breaking political news @ this point in the runup to the election anyway. Even more so now, since I voted absentee last week. The charges & countercharges are simply ridiculous.

It's hardly democracy's shining moment. Maybe we'll return to some kind of political normality for the next election?

the issue is whether they should have protection under FCC section 230. If they are a “provider” they get protection. If they are a “publisher” then they don’t.

Two similar threads. Nothing said about the Biden malfeasance, meaning just another phantom conspiracy similar to Trump's claim that Obama committed treason.

Both are equally laughable.

So, let's discuss what is really important today.

Trump is trying to buy votes with rhetoric again. He really thinks all his problems will go away with false promises. Fortunately no one believes him except his uninformed base.

They believe anything.

CNBC reports, "Trump said that he would raise his offer for a stimulus package above his current level of $1.8 trillion."

“I would. Absolutely I would. I would say more. I would go higher. Go big or go home, I said it yesterday,” Trump told Fox Business.

Trump's followers will believe that fantasy. Everyone else knows Trump fully realizes the Senate, controlled by his party, will never accept what he is suggesting. His false promise is designed to woo votes from the uneducated and uninformed.

Unlike a phantom conspiracy, this is a really important issue.

Hacked material is illegally obtained. You agree they have no obligation to allow illegal material. Elaborate on how you make this distinction for me.

From the sound of things there was no hacked data. The computer guy simply claimed the unclaimed property and released what had become his data.

Email accounts require a login, doing so without authorization is a crime regardless of how you acquired the login and password. You cannot claim ownership of someone else’s email account in this fashion.

The only way for that to be legal would be for years-old email data to be stored locally in plain text without password protection or encryption, which is absurd. You’d have to do that on purpose.

Given Guiliani foolishly reading off iMessage text data in a recent interview, it’s pretty clear that this is all actually the result of an iCloud account breach and therefore is illegally-obtained information.

This also all banks on a computer repair shop deciding to clone a hard drive and dig through years worth of email data without any particular reason to think there’s anything interesting. Instead of what doing what a normal shop would do, which is to WIPE the drive and sell the laptops.

The GOP Senate is equally responsible for Trump's mishandling of the virus, the attempted gutting of the USPS, and every other of Trumps failures. They had a chance to rid us of this scourge and refused to do their Constitutional duty.
