The job does exist. It just rotates between the head of state that is in charge of the EU. The change will remove that and make it a job in it self.. administratively it is a wise move.. politically... I dunno, and especially not with Blair.

Its perfect like it is.. We dont need a single permanent head, thats the foremost problem of any political systems, that they insist on having one person in power. Horrific.

It is not a good idea. Currently at least the head is the head of a nation, this would give a the president a seperate identity and hence push the EUroplot closer to that nightmare superstate it is obviously trying to become.
