Bill Encourages Schools To Teach About Racial Significance Of Obama’s Presidency

What part of this description isn't accurate? You have a problem with history that doesn't condemn your political opponents?

Do you honestly believe that the black vote was suppressed until 2008? Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that blacks voted in record numbers when presented with a black presidential candidate.

It mostly was 50-60 years ago, although a lot of minority voters have been disenfranchised in more recent elections. Remember the Florida voter purge of 2000?

The gist of it isn't that we would have had a black president sooner; it's that in the span of a half century we went from blacks being restricted in voting (sometimes violently) to having a black president.

That is a far more accurate description than asserting (implying?) that, prior to 2008, the black vote was suppressed and that a significant difference was made by a single community organizer.

The bill says the election was a “historic step in the effort towards equality in the United States” and that previous elections in the nation involved intimidation and physical violence that prevented millions of African-Americans from voting. It also commends Obama for his work as a community organizer who registered voters after he graduated from Harvard Law School.

PROPAGANDA here! come get your indoctrination here ye here ye.

My kids are grown But I assure you if they were not I would not send my child to a public school in the USSA!

Really good chance if i were younger I would move.

It might be racially significant but, it was

Clever. You should call the guy who owns the pickup truck that bears the bumper sticker from whence you borrowed that acronym and ask him where he got his awesome set of truck nuts.

So, teaching about the significance of the first black president in the United States is wrong, how?

What should be said? That there is nothing special with Barack Obama being the first black president because any black individual in the past could become president, but just lacked aspiration?

Slavery, segregation, Jim Crow laws, etc - those are just inventions created by crazy liberals?

His reign over this country will likely decrease the chance of another Black POTUS for some time to come.

Are you kidding me? Did Jimmy Carter ruin the chances for future whites or southern state governors to become POTUS? Believe it or not, but not all blacks, whites, males or any other subset of humans think and act alike because of which physical traits they happen to share.

Not sure the voting public will agree. (although I may should have added. Black Democrat POTUS)

singapore, lots of english speaking there :wink2:
NewZealand is really nice also.
Argentina is not so bad either but that would be a more of independently wealthy type deal. since the bankers that are bankrupting this country have already bankrupted that once very wealthy and rich nation.

Ok I admit i have been shopping.

Me too! If this country doesn't wake up real soon and realize leftie policies are at the heart of the middle class getting squeezed, then it's Bon Voyage!!
New Zealand is on my list also! You can start up a business in 24 hours there. Singapore would be a good place for similar reasons. Argentina for the wine.

Don't let the door hit ya.

That would only hold true for those whom are prejudice or biased. As I have not (and if things keep going the way they are) will never vote for a republican, I can say that after Obama, I will no longer vote blindly for a democratic president, or any democrat for that matter.

A smart person has a plan for survival when they see the ship is sinking and not enough people willing to work to plug the holes.

The Assembly approved AB1912 with a 71-0 vote and no debate or discussion. It now heads to the state Senate.

If this Assembly represents the people of California, and with this vote...shouldn't the people of California decide for it's students what will be taught? State's rights on state issues.

Representaive democracy and State's rights sometimes produces results not agreed upon by all.

So move. Bye Bye.

George W. Bush was a terrible President. Do you suppose he'll be the last white POTUS for some time to come?

So move. Bye Bye.

That doesn't seem like a reasonable solution, does it?

Don't like a law, just leave. How many times can someone do that before being fed up with every place they go?

There are still attempts to suppress the black vote.

Are you certain that any of those countries would necessarily want you? Not trying to be crass, it's just that I'm sure those countries have immigration policies ike any country does. At the very least New Zealand's immigration policies are pretty strict.

In and of itself, sure, but he believes that having a first black President shouldn't be taught as historically relevant (unless I read him wrong, and subsequent clarifications on his part strongly suggest I'm not). The only way Votemout is going to get away from the idea a first black President is significant is pretty much to move.

He said he would leave, not me. Just saying then go.

I meant to add Democrat but, you might not have a lot to vote for in the near future

Hint: His lies are coming out now.

In your opinion do only black demorat politicians lie? It may be worth noting that many elected officials do not fulfill heir campaign promises, "evolve" (flip-flop) on some issues and exaggerate their ability to "git-r-done". While I am no fan of Obama, I do not attribute his lack of success, as a leader, to his race in the least.
