You fail to realize how people get elected to the government.lol. They don't tax em' enough?
What puts us in debt is over spending right? YES! The government is giving how much money they ask for so therefore its the governments fault if they overspend!
Anyways your saying the CEO's don't deserve the fruit of their risks? They risk money and run a business. Now do they work hard I'm pretty sure at one point in time they did. Now do I agree that they should have so much excess? No.
I'm gonna try to go to one of the protests in Manhattan tomorrow. Either an afternoon march or the big protest in Times Square. It should be tons of fun, and I will hold a sign saying this:
NO- Communism/Fascism
YES- Social democracy/equality
Oh lordy. Calling a duck a goose certainly makes a difference.
Have fun, I'll try to work this weekend to offset your lack of productivity...
Let 'em protest.
This is the most effective - and cheapest - election gains the Republicans can possibly ask for.
These are truly pathetic people. This is what happens when you don't bother to raise your children.
You fail to realize how people get elected to the government.
They make promises. They point fingers at the other party. If a candidate shouts loud enough he'll be elected. In other words, advertising. Advertising is how they get elected, so obviously, a billionaire has an advantage over your average middle class working American. Even if they aren't in politics, these guys can funnel in their money to manipulate the media, and thus, the government.
Wait!?!?! You mean lobbyist help elect government officials!?!?! Oh lawd jesus christ I did not know.
A billionaire has an advantage over a middle class working american? Well of course. The good thing is both democrats and republicans have a lot of rich people for both sides. So whats your point? My first statement "Lol. They don't tax em' enough?" was sarcasm. I'm against high taxes. But I do believe you have to pay ceaser whats ceaser's. I know politicians make promises and I know that majority of the time they don't go through. But its still the governments fault for over spending. And the rich people shouldn't be blamed for the overspending of the government.
Well gee. What else do you expect the government to do when cleaning up the messes left behind by those corporations?
Explain to me how it's government's fault that CEO salaries are now 350 times the average worker's salary in this country (where it's more like 30 to 50x in most other capitalist nations).
I feel like the owners of the Park chickened out and will use the cleanup operations protesters have embarked upon as the reason.
I personally believe the Park's owners are afraid of the riot that was sure break.
I also believe that some of the unwashed masses are hoping for a spark to set off riot to give these fools a chance to loot etc.
Big Win for 'Occupy Wall Street' Protesters? - Fox News Video - Fox News
yes you do. you would be foolish not to. It's very obvious what they are protesting about.I still don't even know what they're protesting about :doh

I've been in platoon activities for about 18 per-day for a while. We don't exactly have CNN on the IED lane. Mind cluing me in?
All I get on news feeds are "the protesters are over here"...and "the park needs to be cleaned". I have no idea why there are protesters at all to start with.
@Jerry
"Occupy Wall Street is an otherwise unaffiliated group of concerned citizens who have together with the purpose of holding Wall Street (as the drivers of an increasingly undemocratic power structure) accountable for their fiscal recklnessness and criminal perversion of the democratic process."
The above is taken from the flyer they hand out down at Liberty Plaza.
My apologies. I thought you were just being difficult. The media is trying to spin the protests as "meaningless".
It's not actually clear that all of the protester know either, so don't feel bad.I've been in platoon activities for about 18 per-day for a while. We don't exactly have CNN on the IED lane. Mind cluing me in?

Most people over don't know what they're protesting either.
Nothing to apologize for, most of the time I am just being difficult
So are these corporate entities the same folks responsible for Enron etc?
Lobbies of various sorts, (not just business corporations), supply our legislator with favors of sorts and in return, our legislators provide the interests with favorable legislation. Sometimes that legislation directs taxpayer money to those who the lobbies represent. The country is literally run by corporations who use the power to further enrich themselves at taxpayer expense and that's starting to annoy some people.
So you don't want the government to intervene if, say, 99.9% of the country were making four cents an hour, and the other .1% were making millions upon millions?
Same sort of group, yes. (Enron-specific individuals are either in jail or dead for the most part)
It matches my experience. More than that I can't say.You know this from experience?
