eh, I am fine in what I advocate for and there are plenty of examples of successful mixed economies that do what I advocate for.

Well, the socialist back in the day who coined the term socialism, are the same socialist that coined the term capitalism, are responsible for the definitions. Marx and Engel in Das Kapital further clarified both terms. For a time in Europe, socialism was communism without the promotion of atheism and demotion of the nuclear family.

??? You pointed to Canada as an example They have stricter immigration standards than the US and dont much tolerate any illegal immigration. Which better enables them to be able to provide more assistance for the needy.
And other than their socialist healthcare, rest of their economy could best be described as capitalism.

That particular discussion had diverted from immigration and into economic policy, I believe. In terms of immigration, its not an issue I have strong feelings about either way, but it can be fun to play devils advocate against certain divisive elements in our society.

Ok, by that definition of socialism you prefer to use, my stance is welfare or redistribution capitalism. I can be quite flexible with my label, depending on which definition of socialism one is using in whichever conversation.

Sane people would not bring in huge numbers of third world poverty, possibly high risk of Covid while our country is suffering from Covid, unemployment, strains on medical, schools and debt.
