Biden Doesn't Want Us To Know That There Are U.S. Boots On The Ground In Ukraine

Mission creep always starts with "advisors".

Cool. This is 14 dudes who are there do security for U.S. diplomats and policymakers and provide a minimal level of oversight to the distribution of aid.

Russia already knew.

The Kremlin said Wednesday it was unclear whether the leaked documents referring to the foreign special forces were authentic, but that it had already known that instructors from NATO countries were active in Ukraine.

The U.S. has confirmed there is a “small U.S. military presence” deployed in Ukraine after leaked documents indicated several Western countries had special forces units on the ground amid Russia’s invasion.

“There is a small U.S. military presence at the embassy in conjunction with the Defense Attachés office to help us work on accountability of the material that is going in and out of Ukraine.” -
National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby

It's mainly a "transparency" issue. Biden promised Americans transparency, but he deliberately kept the American people in the dark. For that reason he cannot be trusted.
Get real. Who wouldn’t have assumed that there were US and allied advisors there in the embassies and elsewhere, given all the military assistance provided. This report is hardly proof of anything.

Nobody's pretending to be a "military expert', flake. An article in americanmilitarynews said that US troops deployed in Ukraine, Biden spokesperson confirms.

That was interesting, since Biden never came forward with that. A good, decent president would have addressed the nation to tell his fellow Americans that the decision had been reached to send a group of U.S. special forces to Ukraine.

But the man who promised "transparency" kept it from us because he KNEW that Americans would never support boots on the ground in Ukraine - we had only just gotten out of the longest military conflict in U.S. history - the War in Afghanistan.

There is no law against being ignorant, so you Biden worshippers are safe. Biden is a racist, and a very untrustworthy man, Incompetent, and feeble - both mentally and physically. He will not get my vote next year.

Up until this one, I thought the post was dumb but sincere. Now it's clear it just another #5

The Fringe right dishonest messaging agenda:
  1. Erode U.S. citizen support for Ukraine
  2. Minimize the violence of J6.
  3. Demonize LGTBQ people.
  4. Demonize immigrants and minorities
  5. Push/claim Biden has dementia.
  6. Promote Trump as an innocent, good man.
  7. Avoid/derail firearms legislation
  8. Promote distrust in our voting system.

Predictably, you completely ignored the whole point of the OP. As a candidate in 2020, Biden promised Americans "transparency". However we can see that Biden is not transparent - he's very sneaky and cannot be trusted. An honorable president would have been honest and forthcoming about sending Special Forces into Ukraine.

My personal opinion of Biden's cognitive impairment was not mentioned (or even alluded to) in the OP, and is irrelevant.

What IS relevant is Americans' perception of dishonesty with Biden. Trustworthiness will be a problem for Biden in the months ahead. American's will remember how good things were for them before Biden came into power, and they will consider the mess they are in today after Biden's failed policies. And they know that another four years of Biden would bring even more misery and grief. Dishonest Joe Biden will get clobbered in the General Election - regardless of who the GOP candidate might be.

Yes, as it turns out, Biden is all not all that transparent when it comes to secret war plans. Anyone who holds that against him was against him to begin with. So I Would say this is decidedly a non issue.

After the Trump years, calling Biden dishonest is a knee-slapper. There are several US - and I assume other countries’ -advisors in Ukraine. If they are in combat, that might be different, but given all the aid/equipment sent there, hardly surprising that advisors are there.

And what misery and grief? Unemployment is lower, job growth higher than it has been for many years. There is understandable (easing) inflation, less than in other countries, as demand increases while we move out of a COVID shutdown. Infrastructure week ended and infrastructure funding arrived. No insults to allies, no praise of torture or dictators, not much I will concede, but more than we can expect of Trump.

Ummm...if you didn't stop and think that we already had military advisors there...that's on you.

I mean, we literally all knew this the whole time.

A lot of their equipment are ours...of course we are going to have military advisors there to train them.

Dude, that's just a combination of standard operating procedure and common sense.

There's nothing new here. Did you really think so?

I don't care how special these special forces are 14 people is not going to change the course of a war.

Maybe if they were actually all Rambo or Robocop then maybe but I have a feeling they aren't.

Mission creep always starts with sending "advisors". That's how the government did it with Vietnam in 1961. These Special Forces troops were not in a combat role, but eventually they started getting killed. And more got killed. So then more "advisors" were sent to Vietnam in order to support the original "advisors", and we all know the rest of the story.

Americans were gullible to believe the nonsense in 1961. Today's Americans are foolish to not see that Ukraine is Joe Biden's Vietnam.
The US has no reason presently or with Russia's abysmal military failures in Ukraine to start sending divisions of troops into Ukraine at any time.

Meanwhile Russia collapsed twice in the 20th century, in 1917 and again in 1991. In other words Russia collapsing bookended the 20th century by its loud crashes.

Now Putin the hard core 20th century Soviet Russian is going for the hat trick in the 21st century. Russia and China are in a horse race to show how disastrous a country can be from one century into the next.

The USA continues to dominate throughout and indefinitely.

Putin said.

Setting aside that I am opposed to our presence being there. I do not expect any potus to tell the public of any covert operation they are conducting. It's an unrealistic expectation imo

Exactly.

So get them out. They should not have been sent there in the first place. Congress never approved these "Special Forces" ops.

The War Powers Resolution stipulates that the President CAN initiate these types of "special Forces" ops without Congress blessing,, however Congress must be notified within 48 hours, AND the deployed forces must not remain for more than 60 days.

Why "get them out"?

Aren't you in the "we must ensure nothing is missing" crowd?

The silence from Congress is deafening.

So it sounds to me there's no problem.

All the manufactured ranting and raging notwithstanding.

No, I'm in the "we must stop meddling into the affairs/conflicts of foreign countries."

Like these guys:

"It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world." - George Washington

"Let our affairs be disentangled from those of all other nations, except as to commerce." - Thomas Jefferson

"America is not the world's policeman. Terrible things happen across the globe, and it is beyond our means to right every wrong." - Barack Obama

Tell us how well appeasement has served in the past.

You should know by now they change the rules when they like.

Tell us how well appeasement has served in the past.
Who are you appeasing? this isn't Britain in 1939 when Hitler was a real threat to Britain, Ukraine is not any of Bidens business, no one is threatening the US.

What does Ukraine have to do with you? Russia isn't at the gates of Washington.
No....just the banging away at the gates of Georgia (the country) and Moldovia (after having bashed in Ukraine's gates).
