Biden Decides To Stick To Aug 31st Deadline!

I disagree. I think he thought he was gonna win in 2020. The problem is this would have been the same with him now
 
You dont know what you are talking about. US forces left Bagram on July 2 2021. Biden was president, He pulled the air support.
 
And you would be wrong as usual. Obama should have taken our troops out but fell for the malarkey from our Generals who never have seen a war they did not like. Biden told him that at the time too. You are right that Biden wanted us out what you are wrong about is that the current situation was not his doing. It was the plan made by Mr. One and done and like he told the crowd at his rally Biden could not reverse it without opening another page in a war without end that we were always going to lose.

I clearly have read the agreement that states in no uncertain terms that all US forces would be out of the country by May 1st 2021. And I noted when Biden tore that agreement up and made his own timeline and withdrawal execution plans. Forget the exact hour. The US didn’t tell the Afghans or our NATO allies the day, the week, or the month we would abandon Bagram. Turns out, to everyone’s surprise, Biden decided to just do it and shut the power off to boot on the way out in the middle of the night on July 1, 2021.
 
Thats silly. We won in Afghanistan years ago. No American soldiers have been killed in over a year. The question was always, how do we leave without this place falling apart? The answer to that may just have been--we cant. Trump wanted out. Biden wanted out. Trump didnt pull the trigger. Biden did. The success or failure of that decision is Bidens and Bidens alone and no amount of whining, finger pointing and blame shifting by you is going to change that.

There were a total of 2000 troops in Afghanistan when Biden took office. Bagram was not capable of anything like air support. It was an empty shell that took 2 hours to clear out.
 
We won nothing as long as we had to invest billions a month and keep 16,000 troops there. You call that winning? Besides in the last year the Taliban were not interested in fighting an enemy that has surrendered and committed to leave. Why should they lose men when they already won the war? Had Biden engaged them there would have been casualties. That is what you wanted. More dead Americans fighting a civil war on the other side of the world while the Afghan people run and hide.

False. Biden did a review of Afghan policy after he was elected and decided back in April to remove US troops on HIS timetable and by HIS approach. You want to blame Trump because you simply cant face the fact that the guy you voted for could F this up so badly. Well, he did
 
That is factually untrue. The US is still doing air strikes in Afghanistan and our NATO allies were doing them too.

Then Clueless Joe, being the foreign policy expert that he was, should have increased our troop numbers there to ensure a smooth exit. He didnt. He was oblivious to the changing picture on the ground as was clear by his July 8 press conference when even reporters saw a Saigon moment approaching. Biden is the dunce that everyone always knew he was. Its just that his stupidity could be hidden when he was in the senate. Now that he is president we can see just how incomptent he is.

No he should not have. We are done fighting someone else's war for them. Sorry. The Afghan's wanted a peaceful transition of power and we had no right to interfere. There was no plan that would have made a smooth exit either. It could have been smoother if we hadn't surrendered over a year ago though. That year gave the Taliban plenty of time to make the arrangements they did with the Afghan army. That was a huge problem made especially for Biden by the one term mistake. So much for Trump's promise that he would not reveal his intentions to the enemy.

Not from Afghanistan...We have had no strike aircraft there since 2020. It is quite difficult to call in support aircraft that are many hours away.

That was what the LOL was for. Biden has no misconceptions about that war. He only said what he said to try and keep the Afghan army from collapsing a day or 2 longer.

LOL If what you say is true then Biden was lying on July 8 when he said the Afghan army could handle the Taliban and that there would be no Saigon moment. Your arguments just get more far-fetched and desperate as time goes on. Here is an article by the far right publication the NYTimes that talks about how Taliban control grew once Biden started his withdrawal of troops on May 1. Clueless Joe watched this happen then went in front of the press and lied about it

Biden isnt getting them out, the Taliban is allowing them to leave. Our soldiers are sitting ducks and the Taliban is allowing this to play out until the 31st. Biden knows this which is why he wont stay one minute longer.

And they have every reason to do so to a point. I have said for three weeks now that there would be a certain degree of what for the Taliban amounts to magnanimous largess as the WINNERS to the LOSERS. But that was a window that would close. It is what it is and was always going to be, just in a condensed time frame of a complete collapse of the Afghan government, military and security services in a mere 11 days.
- we backed the losing side. In fact, we could not convince ourselves that all that money and all that time would result in such a complete defeat of the forces we backed and such a complete disintegration of Afghan government and forces in 11 days... a very natural state of affairs which again more than suggests we should not have stayed a day longer than the day we killed bin Ladin and got the Al Queda camps. Nation Building or the attempt to do same is at the core of this mess. Bush 43 sshould not have gone in to the degree that he did. Obama should have gotten out sooner. Trump just yanked his Yo-Yo for four years and then negotiated a horrid deal....made the JCPOA seem like diplomatic genius.
- the idea that the Taliban would let us take out everybody that aided us, that worked in the former Afghan government and their families for 20 years was a laughable target. Was never going to happen. I don't think this is as much about brain drain as it is about women leaving. Much of the brain drain the Taliban is referring to probably occurred very early in the evacuation. But the women are another story. I can easily see Taliban leadership sitting around their conference tables saying "they are stealing our women" seeing how many are getting on those airplanes.

And for the record this is not Vietnam, not nearly. As usual the panting breathless media opined in error AGAIN. Looked up, saw a helicopter and announced "See, Vietnam". We left virtually all of our Viet partners behind and made no bones about it. We picked them up at sea from boats as those that left in the main arranged their own passage out.
