Biased About Bias

You made false accusations about me. I denied them. Your reply wasn't about the denial or the original accusations.

I don't follow that at all.

Of course you are right. Many times the use of labeling or name calling, is the only argument 'option'. You simply state that the other party lacks any standing to argue since they favor the 'wrong' side. Your abortion example comes to mind as perfect. Once you decide that the fetus (up to some point in its devlopment) is not a separate human (or potential person), that IT (not they) is simply a tissue of the mother, not needed to support the mother in any way, so an elective procedure to remove it is then seen as an acceptable decision of only the mother. If, on the other hand, you view the fetus (after some point in its development) as a separtate human (or potential person) then THEY (not it) have rights, that not even THEIR 'host' mother may willingly violate. The abortion argument, IMHO, depends totally on at what point in development of a fetus does IT become a THEY, not on whether you favor one person's rights over the other. The SCOTUS seemed to have settled that crucial legal point as being at the end of the first trimester from conception (not exactly an easy thing to determine) in the Roe Vs. Wade case, although I am not absolutely sure of that.
