Sometimes what we see as bias is really bias, but sometimes it is just not covering stories because they won't sell as many papers or products. Greed!

You know the main reason the historical genocidal killing of untold hundreds of thousands in Africa was overlooked by Americans and permitted by our government? It occurred during the O.J. Simpson trial! THAT'S AMERICAN NEWS REPORTING IN A NUTSHELL! It got pushed to the back pages!

It's interesting that that Jews all over the world, especially in Israel, didn't demand their governments intervene! All those Tutus that were murdered should have converted to Judaism in a hurry or discovered oil! I guess genocide only counts when it's against Jews! Where were they in the Balkans during that genocide? Talking to each other about the Holocaust and how it can never be allowed to happen again!

It's not an "either/or situation".

Let's see. We start with the question of whether the media is biased or greedy.

Then we go to the media ignoring Rwanda because of the O.J. Simpson trial.

Then we go to asking why didn't Isreal intervene in Rwanda and the Balkans.

Amazing.

I think greed has nothing to do with.People have known for a long time that video, movies, news and other such things can deeply influence people's views.Look up "Birth of a Nation" if you don't believe. The film's creator back then knew that by glorifying one group of individuals and demonizing other individuals on film he can change public opinion. The media today is no different. They know they can shape pulbic of opinion with the stories they air. Why else would they not do a story on someone being awarded a silver star or ignor the stuff that happens on the border while every chance they get they talk about Gitmo or talk about how another soldier or marine died in Iraq as though no soldiers or marines have ever died in a war,or perhaps how some poor wittle ****ing terrorist might be tortured?

Greed has little to do with it.It is about shaping public opinion to match the views of the indivudals who own/run the media.Don't give me that **** that it is mostly republcans that own large businesses,How rich is John Kerry and Ted Kennedy again?I haven't hardly heard **** about violence on our borders,NYT's fake photos, and the fact that millions of people illegally cross into our border is hardly ever mentioned or when the do mention it they use words like undocumented worker, undocumented immigrint or migrant worker to conceal the fact that these scum are breaking the law.
