Re: Best President in Your Lifetime

Oh, hey, look. It's exactly what the Trumpkins were saying about the Obama administration.

I'm sure this all ends well.

Hopefully it ends with the last Democrat being strangled with the entrails of the last Republican. Replace them with the Pirates and the Greens.

Re: Best President in Your Lifetime

I was going to put FDR but since he's not in there I'll put Kennedy.
NASA, responsible for the single largest technological leap forward in the history of the human race.

Re: Best President in Your Lifetime

I can't answer the poll. Eisenhower is not one of the choices.

Re: Best President in Your Lifetime

I know you know what abyss means, so I'm guessing you mean the social and economic failure that was President Obama's legacy.

Lessee... outreach to Iran with allies and other great powers, pushing the climate agreement, reducing the deficit in (I believe) all but one year, the ACA apparently here to stay with millions more insured, getting bin Laden, reconnecting with our allies, inspiring the nation with his words at the funeral in Charleston (think Trump would have been invited?), had the stones and class to apologize to a cop he insulted and invite both parties for a beer... as abysses go, not so bad.

Re: Best President in Your Lifetime

All I know is that possibly the greatest period of prosperity in human history occurred in the US from the forties to the seventies occurred after policies instituted by democrats and liberal republicans. Things have been pretty good for us since then, globalization notwithstanding. I am not ashamed, am proud we decided on things like SS, Medicare/aid, min wage, worker safety, civil rights in employment, voting rights, refugee protection, Peace Corps, the EPA, etc. True, Trump will weaken these things, but no one outside of Ayn Rand thinks this stuff is bad, and even she collected SS. And as to the racist Wilson, sure, but his legacy lives on in the UN. And I like getting to vote for my senators. 17 ain’t going anywhere.

Which of all this terrible stuff should be done away with in your opinion, and how is it politically possible, aside from administrative steps taken by agencies?

Re: Best President in Your Lifetime

Would you elaborate a bit in the organized fascist gangs? I have never heard that before and would like to know more.
Thank you,
CP
