What are the best free to play MMO's I've been playing Forsaken World a lot lately it's not bad, but it seems like nothing compares to WOW or Rift.

DDO and LoTRO are both free and not bad. EQ2 has a free version. Wizardry101 is a surprisingly interesting one that is free, though aimed at kids. Runes of Magic is a kinda WoW clone but quite good.

I've been playing DDO a lot too, although it's kind of difficult and I dont like the fact that you have to roll your attacks. I've played LOTRO too, but I don't really like it. I've played Runes of Magic, I just don't like how it zooms out so much when you're walking, and I don't think it's as fun as WOW either.

CoH is also now free to play, it's got potential if it's up your alley.

City of Heroes I believe.

Oh yeah I was playing Champions Online it was pretty much the same thing, but it was lagging like a bitch. I actually enjoyed playing Allods online but the lagging was unbearable. A lot of these f2p games just won't download right for me idk why.

City of Heroes is much better than Champions, but it is older, and the difference really shows in that regard. LotRO is one of the best free MMOs right now. I've been playing it since the day it went free, and I'm enjoying it more than I ever did in my hardcore WoW raid days. While not an MMO, League of Legends is free. It's the spiritual successor to DOTA.

Not friendly to new people, though. Practice in bot games and following the champion guides on Solo Mid are advised.

Idk Lotro seems like it's kind of lame in the beginning does it get better as you get further in the game?

It helps if you really like Lord of the Rings, and get a kick out of just playing through those areas, and interacting with those characters. Hanging out in Lothlorien was awesome. And now we're crawling through the Ring of Isengard. The Shire is absolutely gorgeous, and one quest where you're eavesdropping on the Witch King and one of his agents was really good at building tension. There's a lot of immersion in the Tolkien world.

Eve Online can be free to play if you play enough to earn plexes. Although you will have to pay probably for the first 4 months until you get enough SP to be able to pay for PLEXes (The item that gives you game time). Personally I pay that way I can run around and pvp and use my ISK I earn to by new ships that I will inevitably lose lol. BTW, anyone else play eve, not trying to thread jack. I just started a new account and so my toon is low SP. Looking to get into a nul-sec corp.

I've been playing eve off and on since launch.
Was encamped in a C4 wormhole, when I last played.

Probably lost my tower by now though.

Let me know if you get back into it hehe. Like I said, not a n00b pilot just a n00b character. I sold my last one, decided mining wasn't my thang.

I have a set of characters.
1 pvp and 3 industry based.

When I last left, I was training up for an Rorqual.
Moving ore out of a wormhole system is a beatch and the refining arrays suck terribly.

I don't really like the character models...Idk why.

I play Runes of Magic, but the angry PvP'er in me is about to quit and go back to WoW.

You should try out Eve Online. It kicks wow's ass in PvP. Literally 400 man fleets vs 400 man fleets. EPIC. Although, the learning curve for it is a cliff of death:

The learning curve is not that bad, especially since they now have a wiki and a free guidebook.

I love PvP/RvR.

The very first MMO I played was Archlord. It's straight PvP...no factions. Guild membership is essential to survive and progress. It's F2P, but I had to give it up when I realized it was costing me too much money. Since then, the only good PvP/RvR game I've found is WarHammer Online. I played that one for a year straight and I jump back into it from time to time. It's not F2P, but they do have an unlimited free trial. Rift has come close to War in the RvR department, but the rewards suck.

I might give SW: TOR a try...depending on the reviews.

Until then, I'm having a blast in BF3.

Wait a second, that means you play it too! Is there some sort of secret Eve community at DP? Do I need to start a thread in the conspiracy theory forums?
