So I was looking at polls online and it seems like Bernie Sanders is one of the most popular politicians currently. I think if the Democratic Party compromised more with Bernie Sanders' platform, they could do considerably better. I would even say that maybe people should be prepping for Bernie Sanders running again in 2020. It seems like Bernie Sanders' platform is a lot more relatable with other people and I think the Democratic Party as a whole could gain from supporting someone who is more popular in general.
Go hard left please, embrace the Bern. Nothing would ensure the GOP gains more seats in the House, Senate and State Houses.

Yep, I agree. I believe leftists should throw in with Comrade BS lock, stock, and barrel. Socialism has worked well for the left over the last few years.
From a few polls online, it seemed like Bernie Sanders was one of the most popular politicians. He also has a lot of experience in the national spotlight running for president. It seems people in general like his politics so perhaps if democrats were to go more in his direction, they may become more popular again. Democrats can't attempt to be successful while running on a platform of elitism.
Perhaps...on the other hand, had the Dems not endorsed Hillary...Trump couldn't have run the same attack campaign and I'd bet the three states that got him in wouldn't have...Bernie would have run as the incumbent in 2020...he's actually got some good ideas people don't hear beyond "He's a Socialist" due to his views on healthcare.
It's appearing any gains Bernie might provide the GOP could be Trumped...
What socialism is that?
Never mind. Since you're ignorant enough to equate socialism with communism you probably wouldn't know socialism if it bit you in the ass.
Well Sanders is still popular. Based on some articles that I read online (from July, I don't think there has been a recent article since), he was the most popular senator currently. It seems people seem to like him, and everyone thinks he is a socialist, so, by association, perhaps a large chunk of people agree that perhaps the country is unfair and socialism is the way to go. I wonder, honestly, the source of his popularity, but if it's because he's honest about his support for a socialist agenda, perhaps that's the direction we should go. At least to some degree more than we are currently.
Yeah, right. Everyone is ignorant, except the leftists. ROTFL
By all means, you people need to get behind Comrade BS, an admitted socialist, I'm sure the country can stand a few more leftists being chased out of office. Keep up the good work.

He polls well, but consider that no one particularly attacked him much at all during the 2016 primaries. So he got all the publicity with little to no negatives to go with it. And the problem from the democratic ciew is that, well, Sanders is not a democrat, by his own choice. So his popularity really does nothing for us. Democrats are not going to become something we are not, simply because some guy is popular.
I can't recall if he wasn't attacked at all. I felt that he was. I also remember he received minimal media coverage, based on studies other people did. He's the underdog and he's also popular. People can get behind someone like that. For the most part, I think people respect his personality; I think they feel as if he sticks to what he believes in and I don't think democrats would necessarily have an issue with Bernie Sanders representing them. He almost won the Democratic Primary obviously.
Do you oppose social security, Medicare, public works programs? Because those are all, to some extent, socialist programs. Socialism covers a broad range of things. Simplifying it down to "he's a socialst, derp", while possibly a good campaign slogan, is not at all an complete description.

Every socialist program is balanced on the backs of the working class.

Well the Republicans didn't have anyone that popular. Trump was never that popular throughout the election process. He may be one of the most unpopular candidates ever to win the presidency.
I think that the Democrats should try to find ways to energize their supporters. Trying to find people that are popular would attract more people to the Democratic cause and bring more energy to the Democratic movement in general.

"Looney hard right"? You amuse me.Looks like you got the responses I expected from the loony hard right with more to come.
On one hand I see the GOP pouring on their propaganda lie machine on Sanders just like they did to Clinton. That said the republican brand may have been hurt so badly by the sphincter in chief it may not matter who the dems run -- he or she will be a shoe in. We live in interesting times will be an understatement in 2020. The only think I will say for sure is if Trump runs again he will be smashed. I doubt if he even could make it out of the primaries.
