Beginning Vegan Cheat Sheet

lol. Sorry I can't take those links seriously after reading the first paragraph of each.

Looks like you're really grasping at straws here.

You didn't look at my blog so I really don't see why I should attempt to take those sites seriously. I honestly believe I've heard every pitiful argument against veganism before, and there are too many assumptions and holes built in so excuse me if it appears to be a total waste of my time to read that ****. And most arguments against veganism like to point at certain vegans instead of veganism itself. Completely pointless to humor.

Believe me, I would love to be wrong about this because then it would mean I could stop caring so much and stressing out over it. But I'm pretty sure your little blog posts aren't going to tell me anything new.

And your blog is special because?

Boycott-
I don't know what all faux meat I have tasted, I will say this, the folks in Philly have access to a few Trader Joe's and none of them sung the praises of any new faux chicken and this was up until the middle of June. So I am inclined to say if 30 some tries doesn't do the trick somehow I don't think that suddenly 'they' have found the magic formula. As you said, slathered in Mandarin sauce it tastes just like chicken.

Now I don't want to get into a running piss fight with a zealot of veganism.

I don't know of any Trader Joe's here in Oklahoma, will look while in Des Moines. Will be interesting to see what magical new formula is involved. I will keep an eye out. I love exploring, and if I find it, I'll bite it and see...

Works for you?

It's a combination of the fact that he refused to look at my blog and thus likely learn something, and that I give my sources and it's not much of an opinionated blog, more like a 'here are the facts' kind of blog.

LOL. Sure, that works.

They also make crispy tenders. And I think the chicken-less morsels are good without the sauce, too.

Oh, and don't buy the chicken shreds from the refrigerator section. Those are disgusting (maybe they're better prepared a different way - but the way I made them, they turned out rubbery and just really gross).

what got me is an odd. flat aftertaste the faux meat has... it is as if you have so many chews and after that, like gum, it loses it's flavor.

But the quest is on! No el Dorado for us, nope, we hunt the mythical tastes like chicken, faux chicken, and now that I have taken up sword and lance I will not stop until I have found this object of faux tastiness.

So I do pledge, no I am not drinking, been splitting firewood for the winter, might have a similar affect on me, and me using sharp things!

Here's the first paragraph of each, in respective order....

"Go vegan."
We've all heard these words more times than we can count.
The logic behind them is simple. Non-human animals, like human animals, have feelings
of pain and pleasure, sophisticated social and emotional lives, and a deep yearning for
freedom and well-being. In virtually all morally-relevant characteristics, they are our
equals.
2
Yet billions of these individuals are tortured and killed every year for food,
clothing, and research. The obvious way to stop the slaughter, we are told, is by "going
vegan" -- avoiding meat and dairy, finding leather substitutes, etc. When we convince
everyone to "go vegan," according to the conventional view, institutional animal
exploitation will end.

Dave D went vegan in 1999 for ethical reasons, and was a good obedient vegan for about a decade. He volunteered for EarthSave and several animal interest organizations, founded one of the first and consequently biggest vegan group on Meetup.com, and created one of the original vegan message boards — "Vegan Represent".

What's your problem with the first two paragraphs?

Oh, you saw they were more than just a couple of paragraphs and no pictures.

"Grasping at straws" assumes I have some sort of vested interest in the subject. I don't. I think it's silly, simple-minded, naive and uninformed. Your vegan activism will never take you anywhere or accomplish anything worthwhile. So I could care less, because you might as well be doing nothing at all.

Yeah, I meant first couple paragraphs, sorry.

To be blunt, I think you're a complete moron. Your thoughts are selective and convenient to you. Your hatred for veganism is based on nothing but the delusions you comfort yourself in in order to not feel guilty for your actions. I've just had enough of defensive omnivores who come out to insult me based on a perceived need, when I never said anything to encourage it.

Your defense mechanism is overblown. You're getting irrational and bitter over nothing.

I'm really done humoring you. Go back to listening to metal and eating meat, just **** off and stop rambling at me, please.

lol. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Typical whiny, 22-y/o privileged white girl temper tantrum. "Waaaah, people don't agree with me, they're such meany heads!"

Bye-bye, send us a postcard and let us know how that "boycott" goes.

And you're how old? My guess would be no older than 13. But then the internet draws the most immature adults so I wouldn't be too surprised if you were 18.

And privileged? Yes, I live in America. That's pretty privileged. Where do you live, Uzbekistan?

Liked for hilarity.

K, little un, that's enough fun for now. I'll be back periodically to check on you.

Delicious like a grass-fed, CO grown porterhouse with Gorgonzola.

One of the things I miss most about CO is Buffalo. Corned Buffalo is one of the greatest meats ever! Choice City in Fort Collins made this sandwich call the Colorado Reuben that was made with corned Buffalo....damned that **** was good!

I find this statement delightfully ironic.

Please tell me how any of my thoughts are convenient to me (other than improving my own health by not eating animal products).

There's nothing I would love more than to believe that when people supported factory farms, it made no difference. There would really be nothing more comforting than that, to me.

Unfortunately, I'm not delusional. So here I am.

Vegan is great. Vegan is better than everything. I care so much because I'm vegan. The future is vegan.

I'm starting to doubt that last statement of yours by this point.

Well, veganism has stressed me out because of all the work I do, all the researching, and then when I post a forum such as this and get responses from, for lack of a better term, morons. Horrible for my health, honestly.

But, no doubt it has improved my health besides that.

Choice City rulez! Never had the corned buffalo, but I can't imagine it's anything short of spectacular.

See the problem here is that you're just coming off as some pretentious ass. You may not mean it, but clearly this comment and the vast majority of your posts have that air. So of course people are going to start reacting hostilely if your just sitting there trying to talk about how you're soooooooooo much better because your a vegan, and vegans are just sooooooooooo much smarter than everyone and your way is the beeeeest way, the only way, and everyone else is just a moron.

Sorry dude, if you don't want people getting upset, try not to be an ass.
