I have to brag. I kicked some serious butt in this 12 man league.

Check out my draft. My WR's are the weakest point of my team but I think WR's can be built up through the season as there are a lot of them and there are always surprise big time receivers that pop up so I tried to starve the draft of RB's. Hoping if I get desperate for a good WR someone will have to come to me for a decent RB eventually.

My team this week:

QB Mathew Stafford
WR Markus Wheaton
WR DeAndre Hopkins
RB Jamal Charles
RB Arian Foster
TE Greg Olsen
W/R/T (flex position) C.J. Spiller
K Dan Bailey
DEFENSE Cincinnati

My Bench this week:

BN WR Julian Edelman
BN RB Steven Jackson
BN QB Andy Dalton
BN RB Bernard Pierce
BN RB Shonn Greene

Nevermind my already weak WR corp also be decimated by Wes Welker getting busted for amphetimines and will be out for weeks. What a dumbass.

Scratch that... I just dropped and added TE Brandon Pettigrew from the Detroit Lions after reading how their new offensive coordinator is changing the offensive scheme from vertical attack to more of a New Orleans Saints attack. And with NO Saint's Graham being the best TE in the NFL... and Mathew Stafford passing the ball... that bodes well for Pettigrew who was still sitting in my leagues Free Agent pool. Lucky me... I hope.

Uh oh... just read this and had to drop Pettigrew for the other TE...

Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew is ceding his spot as the top pass-catching tight end to rookie Eric Ebron, notes the Detroit Free Press. Pettigrew is O.K. with blocking more.

"Whatever it is, I’m a team guy," he said. "You know that. Everybody here has the same goal. We’re trying to win."

Now let's see what Eric Ebron does.

Why play Wheaton or Hopkins instead of Edelman?

Well I was going on the fact that the Gronk is finally back and will sap so many receptions. And Eldeman basically made a good fantasy impact last year only because Gronk got hurt.

My WR corp is so weak that I'm just shooting in the dark for the most part about who should be in.

Yeah, I guess it's pretty close. Perhaps go by match-ups.

Your WRs arent just weak they are barely backup worthy in a 12 man league. Your backup RBs arent likely to garner much trade value for a WR and unless it was an auction draft I would bet you are near the bottom of the waiver wire since you have Charles. You are in for a long season if you cant get some production from your WRs

The strategy of loading up on RBs early is the way to go IMO but "loading up" in my book means that you grab a couple of quality starters and then take a bunch of others with upside or solid handcuffs. Stephen Jackson and Shonn (sled) Green are neither They are little more than desperation bye week/injury fill ins. Bernard Pierce will have some value for the first two weeks but depending on how Ray Rice looks coming off suspension his value after that could be reduced to virtually nothing.

If it were me, I'd be shopping Arian Foster right now for a quality WR and I'd also be closely watching for RB potential on the waiver wire. You can put Spiller in the RB2 slot and shift Pierce to the flex position for the first couple of weeks to buy some time.

According to my draft reviews I came in at #1 and am predicted only 2 losses all season.

Well look at the predictions.

ESPN has Spiller with 1000 yards, 5 TDs and Fred Jackson with 563 yards and 4 TDs

Jackson split carries with Spiller last year and looking at the way the backs were used in the preseason this year, Jackson's workload will be increasing and Spiller's decreasing

You've also got Wheaton (only owned in 35.2% of ESPN leagues) projected to go from 6 catches in his rookie season to 60 catches. Thats a major sleeper that has to come through. Not to mention you have him starting over Edelman who is ranked as the 24th best WR and owned in 100% of ESPN fantasy leagues.

Then you have Foster and Hopkins playing a zero sum game. The Texans offense is going to be bad Foster and Johnson will get their yards but anything extra is going to be at the expense of the other players. So if Hopkins does good Foster will only do average and vice versa.

Then the rest of your roster is average. QB ranked 5th, TE ranked 7th, K ranked 9th, Def ranked 11th according to ESPN.

You could have a good year but you are going to need Charles and Foster to produce week in and week out for you

That's an ugly looking FF team........just sayin'

I think it's heavy on RBs. I'd look to trade an RB (Foster, Jackson, Pierce or Greene) for a WR worthy of starting. I think the remaining 3 RBs will be fine for rotating into the RB2 slot.

Still time to make changes before weekend. I think spiller will show up. Cincys d always seems to do great garnering turnovers and defensive tds. I knew they wouldn't go high so I sat out on picking a d till late.

Kicker had I think the most 50+ yarders in preseason.

The foster Hopkins thing I will have to work out.

Too black for you I'm sure. Just sayin

I just drew (in a 10 man draw)

QB: Nick Foles and Cam Newton
RB: Alfred Morris, Zac Stacy, Toby Gerhart, Jeremy Hill, Mark Ingram
WR: Demaryus Thomas, Calvin Johnson, Jeremy Maclin, Kelvin Benjamin, Justin Hunter
TE: Kyle Rudolph
K: Justin Tucker
DEF: New England Patriots

I dunno about going WR with ones first two picks. In DP's league (12 players, I picked 4th) I went...

Forte, Brees, Cob, Davis, Hilton, Jones-Drew, Wallace, Watkins, Steven Jackson...

I'm so curious as to how well Foles does this year or if D coaches have had a chance to figure him out. Good luck with your FF!

That's a pretty nasty team depending on your scoring setup

Well the biggest beast in my fantasy beast draft laid a giant egg this weekend. Jammal Charles... holy crap son. 3 points?

He absolutely screwed me in my auction league. I went big on him.

I thought the cheifs had a legit shot at doing really well this season. If all teams have to do is shut down Jammal... they are done and done. As would be a chunk out of my two fantasy leagues.

At least you got lucky with Pierce
