I assume you do not own corporate stocks in one way or another since corporations are entities that enjoy certain protections (for example limited liability) as a result of government laws . Governmet may not be "in charge" but its policies create the rules of the game that you play, including rules that prohibit the undemining of competition (such as antitrust laws).

Bad analogy because if I recall well, even the football game changes the rules according to the record of the team that helps the weaker ones. Same with the NBA (drafting). Again, with or without Trump, limited liability laws that a company enjoys is the product of a government decision. Trump got the hostages released from NoKo and they have been relativlely quiet compared to what was going on in the Clinton/Bush/Obama decades.
