Apparently there are folks claiming some sort of conspiracy between the government and twitter and you linked to a piece titled "is social media censorship a crime" which delved into the issue of civil rights.

You cannot spend millions of keystrokes supporting the notion that twitter and the government are acting as a conspiracy or in collusion or that the goqemernnt is coercing twitter in some way and then try to detach twitter from the government when it suits you. Either they are both violating civil rights or neither are violating civil rights. For the record, neither is violating civil rights. Twitter under Dorsey was curating the public comments of politicians on their platform. Sorry politicians....it's twitter's platform. It does not belong to any group or single politician. They can curate/censor you any way they want to. They can do it unilaterally or with the advice of entities outside the company.

There is no doubt that Russia seeks to influence American election.
But that isn't the issue.

Since 2016, the FBI et. al, have ramped up their monitoring of social media, and as we now see from the 2020 election, the FBI is getting directly involved in an American election. Based upon its own standards, it was a failure--baseless warnings that the NY POST was being fooled by a Russian intelligence operation-- which resulted in social media companies censoring speech.
That is a problem.

And it is all done on the theory that Russian activities threaten American democracy, as per the events of 2016.
